What causes acne on the face?

There are many reasons for facial acne, such as endocrine disorders, heredity, improper diet or irregular life, inadequate cleaning, excessive tension and lack of sleep, incorrect maintenance methods, etc., which may lead to facial acne. Especially during adolescence, the face secretes a lot of sebum, which will clog the pores. Once the pores are clogged, acne will occur. Acne will affect the appearance, so you must try to eat less spicy food, eat light food, pay more attention to skin cleanliness, avoid clogged pores, go to bed early and get up early, and develop good living habits.

Cause

The occurrence of acne is closely related to factors such as excessive sebum secretion, blockage of the sebaceous gland ducts of the hair follicles, bacterial infection and inflammatory response. After entering puberty, the level of androgens, especially testosterone, in the human body increases rapidly, promoting the development of sebaceous glands and producing a large amount of sebum.

The causes of facial acne are mainly internal and external:

Internal factors

(1) Endocrine factors: During puberty, the male hormone level increases, stimulating the secretion of the sebaceous glands in the hair follicles. This increases the secretion of sebum, blocks the pores, and causes facial acne. In addition, some places where sebaceous glands are well developed, such as the back, have thicker skin and are also prone to acne.

(2) Genetic factors: Acne is hereditary to a certain extent. If both parents have oily or combination skin and have suffered from acne, the chances of their children developing acne will also increase.

External factors

(1) Improper diet: Li Yuanwen, deputy director of the Oriental Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, said that people usually like to eat spicy and sweet foods. High-calorie foods such as chocolate, cola, cold drinks, beef and mutton can easily cause the body's dampness and heat to increase, exacerbating facial acne.

(2) Irregular lifestyle: An irregular lifestyle and staying up late can easily lead to metabolic disorders and cause skin moisture loss. If you stay up late for a long time, it can also cause endocrine disorders, facial acne, and dull skin tone.

(3) Improper use of cosmetics: Improper use of some cosmetics can easily cause pores to become clogged. In addition, if makeup is not removed thoroughly, it can easily cause acne on the face.

(4) Improper cleaning: Improper cleaning can easily induce facial eczema, so you should pay attention to washing your face with warm water twice a day, morning and evening. If you produce too much oil, you can wash your face once more at noon. People who use computers for a long time need to use the computer at close range, which can easily cause static electricity adsorption and clog pores, and they also need to increase the frequency of cleaning.

Other causes

1. Nervous system: Excessive tension or anxiety will stimulate the production of adrenaline in the kidneys. Adrenal gland hormone itself can carry out the normal growth of male hormone, thereby stimulating the secretion of oil.

2. Endocrine disorders: Endocrine disorders cause excessive sebum secretion, which cannot be discharged and blocks the hair follicles, creating the prerequisite for the occurrence of acne. The sebaceous glands of the skin have a receptor for male hormones. Some people's receptors are very sensitive, so if there is a slight change in hormone secretion, it will affect the secretion of sebum. Some women may find that acne occurs before or after their menstrual period, or when they stay up late or are under a lot of stress.

3. Lack of sleep: Lack of sleep can cause metabolic disorders, and the skin's healthy weak acidity will change to alkaline, losing its bactericidal effect.

4. Inappropriate skin care products: Oily skin care products are only suitable for dry skin. On the contrary, it will block the hair follicles, making it difficult for skin oil to be excreted.

Nursing

Acne is a multifactorial disease, the onset of which is mainly related to factors such as sex hormone levels, excessive secretion of sebaceous glands, proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes, abnormal keratinization of the sebaceous gland ducts of the hair follicles, and inflammation. With the arrival of puberty, due to various problems in life and diet, acne has repeatedly grown, which has greatly affected the beauty of our face and sometimes even led to a low self-esteem. Therefore, we must correctly understand the causes of acne in order to better fight acne.

You can use moisturizing facial cleanser, but avoid using cosmetics. If there is excessive oil secretion on the face, you can use sulfur soap, saline solution, etc. to clean it appropriately. In a sense, the prevention of acne is particularly important. You should pay attention to the following aspects:

1. Mental and psychological factors are very important: Don’t be pessimistic if you suffer from acne. Be optimistic and confident, and adhere to active and reasonable treatment.

2. Diet: pay attention to "four less and one more", that is, eat less spicy food (such as peppers, onions, garlic, etc.), less greasy food (such as animal oil, vegetable oil, etc.), eat less sweets (such as sugar, coffee), eat less "irritating food" (such as dog and mutton, etc.), eat appropriate amount of cool vegetables and fruits, and prevent stomach problems caused by excessive intake.

3. Lifestyle: It is best not to smoke, drink alcohol or strong tea, etc. Patients with active, inflammatory acne (such as papules and pustules) should stay out of the sun and avoid wind and sand. Places that are too cold, too hot or too humid are also not good for acne.
