What are the causes of itchy ears

In daily life, many people find that their ears often itch, which makes people very worried and wonder whether they can scratch them. In fact, ear itching may be caused by irritation of the external auditory canal. Patients can relieve pain and treat symptoms by paying attention to dietary prevention. Long-term persistence will have good results.

1. Reasons

Ear itching is a sensation that occurs when the sensory nerves in the skin of the external auditory canal are slightly stimulated. Ear itching is the main symptom of external auditory canal skin diseases, and is most common in external ear eczema. Eczema is caused by irritation from chemicals, ear drops, ear boils, and otitis media, and is also related to allergic reactions of the body.

In addition, otomycosis can also cause itchy ears and earwax growth, which often fills the entire external auditory canal after one or two weeks. The causes of ear fungus may be environmental factors, secretions from a ruptured eardrum, and infection. Dirty water enters the external auditory canal due to washing hair, getting caught in the rain, and swimming. If it is not cleaned for a long time, it has the chance to grow mold. I have chronic otitis media, and pus flows from the hole in the middle ear to the external auditory canal. If it is not treated, mold will grow over time. People with athlete's foot (tinea pedis) use their fingers to scratch the infected areas on their feet to relieve the itching. Then they use their fingers to pick their ears without washing their hands, thus transmitting the tinea pedis to the external auditory canal. I went to a barber shop to get a haircut and unfortunately used unsterilized public ear cleaning instruments, which resulted in an ear fungus infection.

There is another situation, that is, there is no itchy disease in the ear, but you have developed a habit of picking your ears; when you have free time, you want to use matchsticks, hairpins, etc. to pick your ears, and your ear canal will feel itchy if you don't pick it. This is a bad habit and should be stopped.

2. Dietary prevention

1. Supplement iron-rich foods: animal liver. Such as: pig liver, sheep liver; animal blood, such as pig blood, sheep blood, turtle blood, as well as lean meat, egg yolk, spinach, etc.

2. Supplement foods rich in zinc: black rice, fish, oysters, lean meat, coarse flour, onions, etc.

3. Supplement foods rich in magnesium: black dates, walnuts, sesame seeds, bananas, kelp, seaweed and miscellaneous grains, etc.

4. Supplement calcium-rich foods: fresh milk, dairy products, soy products, pork rib soup, eggs, fish soup, fruits, fresh vegetables, animal offal and coarse grains, etc.

5. Supplement foods containing B-carotene and vitamin A: carrots, green leafy vegetables, cabbage, pumpkin, egg yolks, cod liver oil, etc.

6. Foods that nourish the liver and kidneys: longan meat, wolfberry, jujube, black beans, turtle meat, animal offal, kidneys, etc.

The above-mentioned types of food can be randomly formulated when used, as a meal replacement or as a side dish. For example, 50g black rice, 30g sesame seeds, 30g walnut kernels, 50g carrots, 15g longan meat, 50g lean meat, and 10g egg yolk are fry into porridge, or salt or sugar is added to season and eat it; another example is 50g spinach, 100g tofu, 30g kelp, 50g lettuce, 50g carrots, and 150g pork rib soup are made into soups as a side dish.

In addition, when adjusting your diet, you should also avoid drinking strong tea, and avoid or eat less animal oil, fatty meat, and fried foods.
