Why does my nose feel dry?

The feeling of a dry nose is related to the air being too dry, especially in the autumn and winter in the north when the weather is relatively dry. If you do not pay attention to hydration and indoor humidity, this situation may occur. Of course, there is another situation, that is, it is due to getting angry or a cold. When you have a cold or a fever, you are prone to having a fever, which can also easily lead to a dry nose. Let's take a look at this aspect.

Why do I feel my nose is dry?

Regardless of the cause of the dryness, there is a most basic change in the poor function of the nasal mucosa. Take drug-induced rhinitis as an example: due to the severe nasal congestion in the acute phase of rhinitis, the use of nasal drops or ephedrine for too long can cause atrophy of the nasal concha and mucosa, atrophy of the nasal and pharyngeal mucus glands, and reduced nasal secretions.

For example, systemic medication can cause the arterioles to contract and their elasticity to decrease, causing dysfunction or even shedding of the cilia in the nasal mucosal epithelium. The nasal mucus can become too thick and stick to the mucosa, making it difficult to blow out, and sometimes contains blood or blood clots. There is an itchy or foreign body sensation in the nose, which often causes sneezing. Patients often rub or pick their noses to relieve the symptoms. At the same time, due to the dryness of the mucosa, blood vessels are easily brittle and even slight injuries often lead to bleeding.

All symptoms of dry rhinitis are chronic rhinitis. Because the symptoms are not serious, they have not attracted attention in the past. In fact, it is easy to get sick when the climate changes frequently, or when it is too cold or too hot, or when there are drastic changes. Drinking, smoking, nutritional deficiencies, vitamin deficiencies, indigestion, anemia and other systemic diseases often induce this disease.

Prevention and treatment:

1. Do not pick your nose frequently to avoid damaging the nasal mucosa. Clean the nasal cavity with mild saline every day to soften the scabs and remove them.

2. Rub the nose or massage the nose point every day: use your thumb to rub the nose wings up and down along the bridge of the nose several times, and use your index finger to rotate and massage the "Yingxiang" point several times to enhance blood circulation in the nose.

3. To protect the nasal mucosa, you should wear a mask when going out in dry weather.

4. Use compound peppermint oil, liquid paraffin, streptomycin glycerin, etc. for nasal drops. Do not use the medicine when the nasal cavity is not dry.

5. Supplementing more vitamins A, B2, C, and E in daily life can help the recovery of the nasal mucosal epithelium. Because vitamin B2

It can enhance cell function and promote the movement of nasal mucosal cilia. Vitamin C has a protective effect on the capillary walls.

6. Quit smoking and drinking, avoid spicy and hot foods, eat more vegetables and fruits, and keep bowel movements smooth.

7. Drink more water: The normal color of urine should be light yellow. If the color is too dark, you must drink more water; if the color is very light, it may be that you drink too much water.
