4. Stye

Also known as blepharitis. In the early stages of a stye or before an abscess forms, you can apply local hot and wet compresses three times a day for 20 minutes each time. Hot compress can speed up blood circulation in the eyes and reduce swelling and relieve pain. Apply 0.25% chloramphenicol ointment or other antibiotic ointment to the conjunctival sac. 2 to 3 times a day. Those with systemic symptoms can take antibiotics or sulfonamides, or intramuscularly inject penicillin. Do not eat spicy food, drink water frequently and keep bowel movements smooth. If the stye does not subside for a long time and leaves a nodule, after the acute inflammation subsides, an incision can be made on the eyelid junction surface to scrape out the contents, and the residual capsule and granuloma can be cut off.
