What are the symptoms of tonsil tumor

Tonsils are very important tissues in the human body. They are located at the throat. Functionally, tonsils are the first line of defense of human immunity, responsible for blocking the invasion of key viruses and ensuring the internal safety of the body. However, tonsils are also prone to disease, which can have a great impact on the body. For example, tonsil tumors are a common symptom. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of tonsil tumors. How to do postoperative treatment?

Tonsils may develop malignant tumors such as squamous cell carcinoma, lymphosarcoma, reticulum cell sarcoma and hemangioendothelioma, with squamous cell carcinoma being more common. Cancer is more common in patients over 40 years old, while sarcoma often occurs in young people and can also be seen in children.

Symptoms:

Throat obstruction, foreign body sensation, atypical tonsillitis, unilateral pharyngeal pain, unilateral tonsil enlargement, bad breath, etc.

Surgery and radiation therapy are often used. For some patients who are not suitable for surgery, radiotherapy alone, chemotherapy alone or in combination with the above methods can be used, or Chinese medicine can be used in combination with the above methods.

Postoperative treatment:

1. All patients were placed in the lateral decubitus position. Patients under local anesthesia are advised to let oral secretions flow out through the corners of their mouths and not swallow them, so as to observe whether there is any bleeding. Before the patient under general anesthesia wakes up, attention should be paid to whether he has swallowing movements. If so, check for bleeding.

2. You can eat liquid food three hours after the operation and rinse your mouth with salt water six hours later. When the wound hurts, you can apply cold compress to your neck.

3. On the second day after the operation, a layer of white film appeared on the wound surface, which is a normal reaction. The white membrane begins to fall off about 5 to 7 days after surgery, granulation tissue forms on the wound, and the surface epithelium begins to grow. If the white film is dirty gray, you should be aware of the possibility of infection. Antibiotics and gargling with 0.5~1% hydrogen peroxide solution can be used.
