Celery Freezing Tips

Celery Freezing Tips

Celery is a very spice-rich ingredient and naturally has a very strong effect in removing fishy smells. Therefore, celery plays an indispensable role in the process of making foods with strong fishy smells. But celery is a green vegetable after all, and like other green vegetables, it is very difficult to preserve. The refrigerator has become a household appliance that every household has, so what is the method of freezing and preserving celery?

How to freeze celery:

1. Wash the celery and remove the dirt on the surface of the celery. Cut off any broken or rotten branches and leaves. Dry the celery before freezing it (or drain it after blanching it). Since celery can collect a lot of dirt at the base, in order to clean it thoroughly, you'll need to separate all the stalks in a bunch of celery. If you find this difficult to clean, then you can simply cut the base off;

2. Tear off all the rough celery strands;

3. Cut off the hard or inedible parts;

4. Choose whether to store the celery sticks directly or cut them into cubes before storing. Celery preserved in both ways can be used for stewing, boiling, pickling, seasoning, etc. The only difference is the method of handling it. Dice celery if desired;

5. Put the cut celery in the refrigerator and freeze it;

6. Remove the celery from the baking sheet and repackage it in a resealable bag. Squeeze as much air as possible out of the bag and label the outside of the bag with the date. If it doesn't turn white, you have to use it up within two months. If it turns white, it can be used up within 12 months;

7. Use. Remove the celery from the bag and use it directly when cooking. Although the texture of the celery will become softer, its flavor will not change.
