Variant asthma is a common disease. From a clinical point of view, it is caused by viral infection, dust, bad air, allergic diet and other causes. Common symptoms include difficulty breathing, coughing, sputum, chest pain, etc. In addition, vomiting, urinary incontinence and other symptoms may also occur. 1. Causes of variant asthma 1. Viral infection. When enjoying the cool in the summer, you should pay attention to preventing colds and other respiratory infections, because viral infections can also induce cough variant asthma; 2. Dust. Be careful to avoid common allergens such as dust mites, pet hair, cockroaches, pollen, and decoration pollution; 3. Bad air. Dust mites, mold, and cold air in air-conditioned environments should also be a cause for concern, and attention should be paid to cleaning and disinfecting the air conditioner; 4. Allergic diet. Dietary allergies vary from person to person. Not all patients cannot eat seafood, fish, shrimp, lamb, milk and other allergenic foods. Only those who are allergic after eating them should abstain from eating them. 2. Symptoms of variant asthma (1) Difficulty breathing: Paroxysmal asthma usually occurs suddenly, without necessarily a prodromal period. It is usually based on an allergic reaction and is caused by exposure to cold, inhalation of certain irritating gases, exercise, crying, or sudden awakening from sleep. During an attack, the patient will feel chest tightness and suffocation, as if the chest is being pressed by a heavy stone, and will be unable to lie flat. The patient is often forced to sit upright to breathe, with the head bent forward, shoulders hunched, and hands on the knees or table. (2) Cough and sputum: Paroxysmal asthma is caused by allergens, also known as extrinsic asthma. At the beginning of the disease, there is not much cough and the amount of sputum is small. After two or three days of illness, the cough becomes more frequent and the amount of sputum increases. The sputum is white, foamy, sticky like glue, and difficult to cough up. It also contains small crystal-like particles. Before the onset of the disease ends, the sputum becomes loose, or the attack ends after yellow sputum is spit out. (3) Chest pain: Severe and prolonged asthma attacks may cause chest pain, which may be related to excessive fatigue of the respiratory muscles. When pneumothorax occurs, obvious chest pain on the affected side may suddenly appear. (4) Other symptoms: Some patients, especially children and young people with more severe asthma attacks, vomit or even suffer from incontinence of stool and urine during an asthma attack, which may be related to autonomic nervous system dysfunction. When asthma attacks are severe and persistent, there may also be neurological and psychiatric symptoms, such as headache, dizziness, anxiety and morbid behavior, confusion, drowsiness, coma, etc. Fever may occur when there is concurrent infection. After the attack, there are often systemic symptoms such as fatigue and weakness. |
