My ears are buzzing and a little painful, what's going on?

Buzzing and a little pain in the ears are obvious symptoms of otitis media, which is very easy to occur in children. Otitis media can be acute or chronic and needs timely treatment. If it develops into chronic purulent otitis media, the harm will be great.

(A) Symptoms of acute suppurative otitis media:

The main symptoms of suppurative otitis media, commonly known as ear damage, are ear pain and pus discharge. Children have more obvious systemic symptoms than adults, and may have fever, vomiting, etc.

1. Ear discharge: It is the main symptom of this disease. It may be mucous, mucopurulent or pure purulent. Non-dangerous pus discharge is thinner and has no odor. Although the dangerous type of pus discharge is not much, it is thicker, mostly pure purulent, and accompanied by a foul odor.

2. Hearing loss: decreased hearing and enhanced self-hearing. When the head tilts forward or toward the healthy side, hearing may temporarily improve because the effusion leaves the cochlear conduction. When the effusion is viscous, hearing may not change with changes in head position.

3. Earache: There may be dull earache, which is often the first symptom of the patient. It can be continuous or cramping. This disease is often accompanied by a feeling of blockage or stuffiness in the ear, which can be temporarily relieved by pressing the tragus.

4. Tinnitus: It is mostly low-pitched and intermittent, such as "crackling", buzzing and the sound of running water. When the head moves or when yawning or blowing the nose, a sound of air passing through the ears may be heard, sometimes intermittently and then reappearing.

(II) Symptoms of secretory otitis media:

(1) Deafness: Hearing loss may occur suddenly after a cold, while descending an airplane, or while diving. Hearing may improve when the tragus is compressed or the head position changes.

(3) Tinnitus: It is usually a low-pitched "booming" tinnitus, and the sound of air passing through water can be heard when yawning or blowing the nose.

(4) Child patients may show slow response, mishearing or inattention.

(III) Symptoms of chronic otitis media:

(1) Ear discharge: It is the main common symptom of this disease. It may be mucous, mucopurulent or pure purulent. Non-dangerous pus discharge is thinner and has no odor. Although the dangerous type of pus discharge is not much, it is thicker, mostly pure purulent, and accompanied by a foul odor.

(2) Deafness: It usually occurs in one ear and is easily overlooked. This type of deafness is often proportional to the progression of the disease, that is, the more severe the lesion, the more severe the deafness. It is usually conductive hearing loss.

(IV) Symptoms of acute otitis media: sudden ear pain, often accompanied by a cold or cough. If the patient is a baby, he will cry incessantly and rub the earlobe of the affected ear. Fever, body temperature can be as high as 39 degrees Celsius. Vomiting may occur, or the ear canal may have a discharge of soft wax or pus.

The above article is what I introduced to you today about the symptoms of otitis media. Otitis media, an ear disease, affects the patient's life and work all the time. If you suffer from this disease, you cannot even maintain a normal life, which is very serious.
