1. Do not eat soy products

Gout patients cannot eat soy products, such as tofu, soy milk, fried tofu, dried tofu, etc., because soy products contain more purine, and intake will increase the blood uric acid concentration. Therefore, gout patients with abnormal purine metabolism and patients with increased blood uric acid concentration should not eat soy products to avoid inducing or aggravating the condition.

2. You can’t eat seafood

Gout patients should avoid eating crabs, shrimps, seafood, etc. This is because these foods are "hot" foods that can induce pathogenic qi, and seafood contains high levels of purine, which can increase blood uric acid concentration and easily cause gout attacks, so they should not be eaten. Shrimp is warm in nature, and people with acute gout often suffer from heat arthralgia. Eating shrimp, which is warm in nature and causes wind, is like adding fuel to the fire. In addition, fish contains purine substances. People with gout will aggravate the purine metabolism disorder by eating fish, which will cause the uric acid level in the blood to be too high, so it is not suitable for consumption.

3. Do not drink alcohol

Alcohol can easily cause lactic acid accumulation in the body and inhibit the excretion of uric acid. Long-term drinking of small amounts of alcohol can also stimulate increased purine synthesis. Therefore, gout patients should not drink alcohol, especially beer, as beer contains more guanylate, which will produce purine after being metabolized by the body, and can easily cause gout.

4. Do not eat pepper or cinnamon

Pepper is a spicy and irritating food. Gout patients, especially during gout attacks, have local redness, swelling, heat and pain in the joints, like heat arthritis. If they eat pepper, it will increase heat and fire, which will aggravate the condition. Cinnamon is very hot in nature and tastes very spicy. Eating too much of it can cause heat and internal heat, and can also cause bleeding and damage the yin. Especially during the acute attack of gout, you should not take cinnamon, which is spicy and hot and helps to increase fire. If you take it, it will aggravate the condition and intensify the pain.
