What if there are shadows in the lungs but no symptoms?

Shadows in the lungs are a type of lung disease, which can be detected through examination. Some people are found to have shadows in their lungs but have no symptoms so they don’t know what’s going on. In this case, the symptoms may not be obvious enough, so they are not discovered, or it may be because the shadow range is small.

1. Symptoms alone cannot confirm the diagnosis. It is necessary to check whether there are tuberculosis or tumor cells in the sputum. It cannot be ruled out that it is old pulmonary tuberculosis or calcification. There is no need to worry about this. Further examination or enhanced CT imaging examination can be performed.

2. If there are shadows in the lungs, pneumonia can be considered, but not all symptoms of pneumonia are obvious. Secondly, it is necessary to take anti-infection treatment and then recheck after half a month. If there are shadows in the lungs, it is considered to be a condition caused by lung inflammation. You need to go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. After the diagnosis is confirmed, you can be given anti-inflammatory drugs for symptomatic treatment.

3. If there are shadows in the lungs, the position, shape and size of the shadows should be used to make the corresponding judgment. The shadows of pneumonia are generally in the form of flakes or patches, covering a larger area. In severe cases, liquid density (i.e. pleural effusion) may even appear at the bottom of both lungs. If you are not good at reading, you can look at how the hospital reports the chest X-ray results, and then pay attention to the current symptoms. If there is also fever, cough, and sputum, lung infection can basically be diagnosed, and the symptoms can be relieved by taking appropriate anti-infection treatment.

4. If you had pneumonia as a child, the lungs generally have the ability to repair themselves. Generally speaking, there should be no shadows on the lungs. However, in a few cases of pneumonia, there may be marks left after organization. However, these marks are old and can be easily identified by doctors. So this possibility is not very high.
