What should I do if my tongue is rotten? This is how you should treat it

When ulcers appear on the tongue, we usually say that the tongue is rotten, which is medically called aphthous ulcer. It is extremely painful at first, and then the ulcer will become larger and larger, and the surface will be covered with a thin film. It takes a long time to heal. Many people's tongue ulcers will recur and are extremely painful. If they are not treated, they will not heal for a long time. What should we do in this situation?

1. Use aloe vera to relieve pain

The ubiquitous "first aid" plant aloe vera can also relieve tongue ulcers. Squeeze a little gel from the aloe vera leaf, dry the affected area with a cotton swab, then gently apply the gel, repeating as many times as possible.

2. Avoid spicy food

Coffee, spices, citrus fruits, nuts high in arginine (especially almonds), chocolate, and strawberries can irritate tongue ulcers and even cause them.

3. Apply analgesic ointment

Lemon analgesic ointment, a kind of. While lemon juice is probably the last thing you want to put on a sore ulcer, lemon pain relief ointment can help soothe the pain.

4. Soak with apple cider vinegar

Mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 6 to 12 ounces of warm water and add one tablespoon of calcium and magnesium powder. Finally, add cool water to the cup and drink it in small sips - your tongue ulcer will heal soon.

5. Neutralize ulcers

The pain of tongue ulcers is usually caused by eating acidic substances and digestive enzymes. To neutralize the acid and speed recovery, chew a tablet of bismuth subsalicylate, calcium carbonate, or sodium dihydroxyaluminum carbonate, or apply it directly to the affected area and let it dissolve on its own.

6. Drink tea

You can use wet black tea compress on the ulcer. Black tea contains tannins, which are astringents that can “surprise you” and also have the ability to relieve pain.

7. Brush your teeth carefully

It's important to keep your mouth and teeth clean while your tongue sore heals, but you must be careful. You don't want to injure yourself again with your toothbrush or toothpick. Also, if you're prone to tongue ulcers, remember to read the label on your toothpaste. Sodium lauryl sulfate, used as a stain remover in some toothpastes, may contribute to tongue ulcers in some people. Others contain triclosan, an antibacterial ingredient that may help tongue ulcers heal.
