What to do with lumbar osteoporosis, treatment methods for osteoporosis

When people reach middle age or old age, their bodies will undergo many changes, especially changes in bones. Many middle-aged and elderly people are prone to osteoporosis. Physical and hormonal methods can be used for treatment. They should strengthen physical exercise and take calcium supplements in time.

1. Treatment of osteoporosis

1. Physical therapy

Physical therapy, abbreviated as physiotherapy, is the use of modern physiotherapy equipment such as electricity, light, and sound on the human body and bone pathways to promote bone synthesis. The treatments for osteoporosis mainly include ultrasound, ultrashort wave, magnetic therapy, heat therapy, etc.

2. Hormone therapy

Strictly speaking, hormone therapy is also a type of drug therapy, but it has its own particularities. The hormones used to treat senile osteoporosis are different from the commonly used steroid hormones, but are sex hormones such as androgens and estrogens. This type of osteoporosis treatment is relatively common.

3. Physical therapy

Sports therapy is simply called physical therapy, which means that patients regulate the whole body's metabolic state, improve bone blood circulation, and increase external force to stimulate the bones through some physical activities, so as to achieve the effect of alleviating osteoporosis.

Acute treatment

Once a vertebral fracture occurs, you need to rest on a hard bed and put a pillow under your knees to reduce the stress on your lower back. Pay attention to bedsore care. You can take some painkillers. You should start exercising once the pain disappears and increase your activity level day by day. People with severe pain may wear a brace.

2. Methods to increase bone tissue

1. Oral calcium supplements

Calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, calcium lactate, and calcium gluconate can all be used. After taking oral calcium supplements, people should be encouraged to drink plenty of water to prevent urinary stones.

2. Vitamin D Supplementation

It must be noted that high-dose vitamin D supplementation can cause hypercalcemia. For women before and after menopause, the daily dose is 400 units.

3. Supplementation of mate hormones

The word method is suitable for women before and after menopause. The supplemental dose is 0.6 mg per day. Long-term use may cause cancer, so it is not suitable as a routine treatment method.

4. Exercise

You need to walk for at least 30 minutes every day to exercise with weights and absorb sunlight.
