What to do if your teeth are sensitive and painful? Folk remedies are effective

If you experience tingling in your teeth after eating cold or hot foods, then you have sensitive teeth. The pain caused by sensitive teeth can be treated with some folk remedies, such as chewing green tea and using desensitizing toothpaste when brushing your teeth.

1. When tooth allergy occurs, folk remedies are indispensable:

1. Chew green tea

Green tea is rich in catechins, fluoride, tannic acid and other ingredients, which help the protein in the hard tissue of teeth to coagulate, form a protective layer and relieve tooth allergies. Tannic acid also has the effect of reducing calcium dissolution. Take 1 gram of green tea leaves each time, chew for 5 minutes, 3 times a day.

2. Chew raw walnut kernels

Raw walnut kernels are rich in linoleic acid glyceride, calcium, phosphorus, etc., which will penetrate into and block the dentinal tubules when chewed, reducing stimulation to the dental nerves. First rinse your mouth with light salt water, put 20 grams of walnut kernels into your mouth, chew for 3-5 minutes, and swallow slowly. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening.

3. Rub your teeth with garlic

Garlic contains fluoride and allicin. Rubbing it against teeth can partially close the open dentinal tubules and block external stimulation to the dental nerves. Slice the garlic and leave it for 5 minutes, then rub the sensitive teeth with the garlic slices for 3 minutes, 3 times a day.

4. Apply vitamin E oil

Vitamin E helps enhance the repair ability of teeth and surrounding tissues. Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply the oil in the pure vitamin E capsule on the sensitive teeth. Do not drink water within half an hour to extend the time the medicine remains on the teeth as much as possible. 3 times a day.

5. Drink spinach soup

Spinach contains a large amount of tannic acid, which can coagulate the protein in the dentinal tubules and relieve the symptoms of tooth allergy. Put 300 grams of spinach into 600 ml of water, bring to a boil and then simmer for 10 minutes. Eat the spinach and drink the soup once a day.

2. How to relieve tooth sensitivity:

1. Use desensitizing toothpaste. Unfortunately, extensive tooth sensitivity caused by enamel wear or gum recession cannot be cured with a dental filling. Try a desensitizing toothpaste, which is available without a prescription. These special toothpastes contain ingredients that fill the ducts (i.e., tiny tubes) in the dentin, thus eliminating sensitivity.

2. Before going to bed at night, dip your finger or cotton swab in some toothpaste and apply it on your sensitive teeth. Spit it out, but don't rinse your mouth. After a few weeks, tooth sensitivity will improve.

3. Use fluoride mouthwash. Fluoride mouthwash, available without a prescription at your local pharmacy or over the dental counter at a store, can help relieve sensitivity, especially for those suffering from tooth decay. Use once daily. Swish it around in your mouth a few times, then spit it out.

4. Keep your teeth clean. Plaque is the white, gelatinous substance on teeth that produces acid that irritates the teeth, especially if the teeth are naturally sensitive. Fight plaque by brushing your teeth at least twice a day, preferably after meals or before bed, and flossing at least once a day.

5. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush. Often, people damage the protective enamel by brushing too hard or using a hard-bristled toothbrush. As gums recede (often an inevitable part of aging), exposed dentin becomes more susceptible to abrasion from a toothbrush. Try to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and don't brush too hard (in fact, brushing more gently will allow the toothbrush to move more freely, which will lead to better brushing results).
