What are the treatments for traumatic facial paralysis

Traumatic facial paralysis is also relatively common in clinical practice. Traumatic facial paralysis mainly includes immediate facial paralysis after injury and delayed facial paralysis. The treatment of traumatic facial paralysis is also of concern to many people. Traumatic facial paralysis can be treated surgically or non-surgically based on individual circumstances.

1. Facial paralysis is considered in traditional Chinese medicine to be caused by blood stasis caused by evil cold. Patients should pay attention to supplementing calcium and vitamin B. Calcium is not only good for bones and intelligence, but also promotes the recovery of muscle and nerve function. Vitamin B can also maintain nerves. There are many specific causes of facial paralysis, and the scope of lesions is also different. Diagnosis and treatment must be based on different situations. Generally, facial nerve triple rehabilitation treatment can be used to comprehensively improve the microcirculation of capillaries in the lesion area, fundamentally repair damaged facial neurons, and restore facial muscle function.

2. Traumatic facial paralysis is common in patients with craniocerebral injury and skull base fracture. The facial nerve runs in the temporal bone. The fracture causes primary damage to the nerve. Direct compression and cutting of the fracture cause nerve tear or nerve contusion; secondary injury, such as nerve edema and ischemia, occurs after the fracture. Skull base fracture combined with traumatic facial paralysis is a common disease in neurosurgery. Temporal bone fractures are divided into two types according to the positional relationship between the fracture line and the long axis of the petrous bone: transverse fractures (50% with facial paralysis) and longitudinal fractures (15%-25% with facial paralysis).

3. For the treatment of traumatic facial paralysis, there are mainly two types of treatment: surgical and non-surgical. Among them, non-surgical treatments are mainly based on drugs and physical therapy. Drug treatment hospitals often use traditional neurotrophic drugs and corticosteroids, but the results for many patients are not very ideal. Physical therapy is the Swedish (SDT) stereotactic repair therapy, which is based on the principle of optical focusing and uses computer single photon emission tomography technology. With just one scan, it can intuitively, dynamically and accurately observe the activity, degree of damage, and location of brain neuron cells in real time. Among them, SDT has three-dimensional precise positioning and targeted repair without damaging normal neuronal cells. It eliminates all infections, has a 100% safety factor, is suitable for a wider range of people, and solves the problem of previous emphasis on treating brain diseases instead of diagnosing them.
