Esophageal cancer is a digestive system disease that has become more common in recent years. It causes great harm to the physical and mental health of the human body. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand the common sites of esophageal cancer and pay close attention to it. In fact, there are three common sites for esophageal cancer, which are the three physiological narrownesses in the world. Three physiological strictures of the esophagus The first narrowing is located at the beginning of the esophagus, which is often referred to as the junction of the pharynx and the esophagus, equivalent to the cricoid cartilage and the lower edge of the sixth cervical vertebra, and is surrounded by the cricopharyngeal muscle and cricoid cartilage. The second stenosis is 7 cm below the entrance of the esophagus, where the left bronchus crosses the esophagus, which is equivalent to the level of the sternal angle or between the 4th and 5th thoracic vertebrae. It is formed by the aortic arch passing through its left side and the left bronchus passing through the front of the esophagus. This area is where foreign bodies are easily retained in the esophagus. The third stricture is where the esophagus passes through the diaphragm. The fissure is inclined upward from right to left. These three pressure marks in the esophagus can be seen during barium meal esophageal radiography. The third impression is more pronounced when the left atrium is pathologically enlarged. Common treatments for esophageal cancer include: 1. Surgery Surgical resection is the main method for treating esophageal cancer, and early resection can often achieve a radical cure. In the past 20 years, great progress has been made in the surgical treatment of esophageal cancer, but it is often accompanied by various postoperative complications. Esophageal replacement surgery will greatly reduce the patient's quality of life, which makes patients afraid to proceed. 2. Radiation therapy Methods of radiotherapy for esophageal cancer include external radiation therapy, intracavitary radiation therapy, preoperative radiation therapy and postoperative radiation therapy. Surgery for cervical and upper thoracic esophageal cancer causes great trauma and a high incidence of complications, but has minimal radiation damage and is more effective than surgery, so radiotherapy should be the first choice. In the past, radiotherapy caused many complications to patients due to its low precision. However, with the development of science and technology since the beginning of the new century, the level of radiotherapy has been greatly improved. Today, the accuracy of TOMO radiotherapy can even be controlled below 0.5 mm, and the damage to the patient's normal tissue has been reduced to the lowest limit, greatly ensuring the safety of the patient's treatment process. 3. Drugs Including chemotherapy drugs and traditional Chinese medicine, which are also common methods for treating esophageal cancer. But currently most of them are used for adjuvant therapy. IV. Intervention This method of treating esophageal cancer is a representative of green therapy that does not require surgery or chemotherapy. Electrochemical intervention is to introduce a very soft electrode into the tumor tissue to directly kill tumor cells, causing the tumor to shrink rapidly and the esophagus to become unobstructed quickly, so that you can eat smoothly after treatment. Placing a particle stent can completely deprive tumor cells of their ability to reproduce without causing any harm to normal tissues. At the same time, it can open up the esophageal cavity to allow food to pass smoothly, greatly prolonging survival time, reducing pain, and improving the quality of life of esophageal cancer patients. |
