What are the causes of pulmonary fibrosis?

The general public knows very little about pulmonary fibrosis. In fact, pulmonary fibrosis is a rather difficult and special disease of the respiratory tract, which is harmful and lethal. Everyone needs to know something about it. There are many causes of pulmonary fibrosis. In daily life, we should pay attention to the causes of pulmonary fibrosis in order to reduce the possibility of getting the disease.

What are the causes of pulmonary fibrosis? As a special respiratory disease, the mortality and morbidity of pulmonary fibrosis are increasing year by year. It can be said that the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis is a difficult problem all over the world. What is more harmful is the patient's body and mind and their family members' families. In order to control the disease and prevent it from entering the late stage, it is necessary to control and treat the patient's condition as early as possible.

There are many causes of pulmonary fibrosis, the most common ones are environmental, occupational, physical and chemical factors, such as asbestos, minerals, dust, chemotherapy drugs, radiation damage, inhalation of harmful gases, etc.; exogenous allergic alveolitis caused by contact with pigeon droppings, animal fur, moldy dead grass, etc. can all lead to pulmonary fibrosis; some rheumatic autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, etc., can also be accompanied by pulmonary fibrosis, and sometimes pulmonary fibrosis even occurs before.

There are many causes of pulmonary fibrosis, the most common of which are environmental, occupational, physical and chemical factors.

Secondary infection is the main cause of death in pulmonary fibrosis. There is still a lack of satisfactory treatment for pulmonary fibrosis. Western medicine treatment mainly uses adrenocortical hormones and immunosuppressive drugs. Corticosteroids inhibit the action of inflammatory cells, thereby reducing the synthesis of collagen (studies have shown that increased collagen synthesis can promote the formation of pulmonary fibrosis to a certain extent), thereby blocking the process of pulmonary fibrosis. But it also inhibits the production of collagenase, so the effect is not ideal and the adverse reactions are obvious. In addition, long-term use of corticosteroids can reduce the body's immunity, causing "latent" infection foci to spread or induce new infections. Severe secondary infections are one of the main causes of death from pulmonary fibrosis.

What are the causes of pulmonary fibrosis? Causes of pulmonary fibrosis:

1. Inhalation of inorganic dust: talc pneumonia, siderosis, tin pneumonia;

2. Inhalation of organic particles (allergic alveolitis): pigeon breeder's lung and farmer's lung.

3. Chronic rheumatic and immune diseases: systemic sclerosis, polymyositis/dermatomyositis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, mixed connective tissue disease, ankylosing spondylitis;

4. Treatment of current or drug-related diseases: antiarrhythmic drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, anticonvulsant drugs, chemotherapy drugs, vitamins, radiotherapy, oxygen poisoning;

5. Occupational and environmental related diseases: silicosis, asbestosis, heavy metal lung, coal dust lung, beryllium lung, aluminum oxide lung;

6. Surgery for primary diseases (not classified), tumor diseases: pulmonary lymphangioma, bronchoalveolar carcinoma, pulmonary lymphoma, Kaposi's sarcoma;

7. Prominent idiopathic fibrotic diseases include: idiopathic fibrosis, familial idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, acute interstitial pneumonia, desquamative interstitial pneumonia, nonspecific interstitial pneumonia, lymphocytic interstitial pneumonia, and autoimmune pulmonary fibrosis.

8. Others: neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis, sarcoidosis eosinophilic pneumonia, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, diffuse alveolar hemorrhage, pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis, metastatic calcification.
