What are the symptoms of ringworm of hand?

Tinea manuum is actually a common problem that can occur in both men and women, regardless of the season. It can cause blisters on the hands and feet, or desquamation, and the hands and feet become rough, dry, and prone to chapped skin.

Tinea pedis is more common in adults and can affect both men and women. It often worsens in summer and improves in autumn. If not thoroughly treated, it often persists for many years. According to the manifestation of skin lesions, it can be divided into the following 3 types, but the three may appear simultaneously or alternately, or one type may be dominant.

1. The scaly and vesicular type is the most common, with repeated appearance of pinhead-sized papules and blisters between the toes, soles of the feet and their lateral edges. They are clustered or scattered, with thick and shiny walls, and varying degrees of inflammatory reaction and itching. After the blisters dry, they desquamate in the shape of small collars or large flakes, which fall off continuously and occur continuously. When the condition is stable, desquamation is often the main symptom.

2. The macerated erosive type is common between the fourth and fifth toes. The stratum corneum is macerated, white, soft, and peels off to reveal a red erosive surface or honeycomb base. There may be a small amount of exudate. This type is prone to secondary infection and complications such as acute lymphangitis, lymphadenitis and erysipelas.

3. The hyperkeratosis type is common in the heels, soles and lateral edges of the feet. The stratum corneum is thickened, rough, scaly and dry. The subjective symptoms are mild. Cracks are prone to occur in winter. This type often occurs in patients with a long disease course and older age.
