How to check for bacillary disease? Three tests that patients with brucellosis must do

Brucellosis is extremely harmful to human health. Therefore, we must seek medical attention promptly after symptoms of brucellosis appear. Do not abuse treatment drugs based on hearsay, which may delay treatment and cause more serious damage to our health. So what kind of tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis of brucellosis? In fact, you only need to do three tests: blood test, bacteriological test, and immunological test.

Generally, brucellosis can be accurately diagnosed after blood test, bacteriological examination and immunological examination. The specific examination methods are as follows:

1. Blood test: 60% of Brucella patients will be found to have a slight decrease in white blood cells, while a relative increase in lymphocytes. At the same time, most patients' erythrocyte sedimentation rate will also increase. Patients with a longer course of the disease will also have symptoms of mild to severe anemia.

2. Bacteriological examination, usually using blood and sneaky. Both breast milk and uterine secretions can be used for bacterial culture, but because of the strict environment requirements, it is best to use two samples when collecting specimens. One sample is used as the culture medium in a broth containing liver infusion and then cultured in a CO2 incubator; the other sample is incubated in a general environment. Generally, the culture time must be more than two weeks to obtain more accurate results.

3. Immunological examination. This examination mainly includes serum agglutination test, complement fixation test, anti-human globulin test, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and skin test. Generally, the specific manifestations obtained through these tests can basically confirm the disease.

The above is an introduction to the examination methods for confirming brucellosis. The above content can be provided for your reference. If someone suspects that he or she is infected with Brucella, he or she should go to a regular hospital for diagnosis in time. Only after the disease is confirmed can targeted treatment be given, thereby avoiding life-threatening hazards after the disease worsens.
