The teapot in our home may be used to boil water for a long time, and some calcium carbonate will form at the bottom of the kettle. These calcium carbonates become thicker and thicker, which is the so-called scale at the bottom of the teapot. In fact, this kind of scale can be removed by many methods. For example, you can use vinegar to clean the scale at the bottom of the teapot, because vinegar can react with calcium carbonate and dissolve part of the calcium carbonate. Here are some common methods for cleaning teapot scale. The main component of scale is carbonate such as calcium carbonate. The acetic acid in vinegar will react with it to produce water-soluble minerals and carbon dioxide gas. White vinegar can be bought in general supermarkets. Put 10% of white vinegar into the kettle scale, then fill it with water, boil it and let it sit for about an hour, then brush it. Aged vinegar can also be used, but the effect of aged vinegar is not as good as that of white vinegar. After using an aluminum kettle or pot for a period of time, a thin layer of scale will form. Put potato peels in it, add appropriate amount of water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 10 minutes to remove the scale. Put more than half a kettle full of sweet potatoes, fill it with water, and cook the sweet potatoes. Then when you boil water later, there will be no scale accumulation. But be careful not to scrub the inner wall of the kettle after boiling sweet potatoes, otherwise the descaling effect will be lost. For old kettles that are full of scale, after boiling them once or twice using the above method, not only will the original scale gradually fall off, but it will also prevent scale from accumulating again. Generally, the heating plate of electric kettles is made of aluminum. When boiling water in the electric kettle, scale is easily formed. Generally, we can put 1 teaspoon of baking soda and boil it for a few minutes to remove the scale. Alternatively, you can pour in about 500 grams of 1% baking soda water, shake it gently, and the scale can be removed. Through the above introduction, friends have a certain understanding of how to clean the scale in the teapot. In fact, sometimes using vinegar alone for cleaning may not be thorough. If you can reach the bottom of the teapot with your hand, you can directly use sandpaper to polish the bottom of the teapot, which can also completely remove the calcium carbonate deposits on the bottom. Or you can put wood ash into the teapot and rub it back and forth to clean the scale. |
