How to wash moldy clothes

How to wash moldy clothes

Recently I encountered a very troublesome problem, that is, the clothes that have been pressed in the cabinet for many years have become moldy. The most difficult thing about moldy clothes is that I don’t know how to wash them. I used a lot of laundry detergent and some dishwashing liquid but they didn’t work. So I found some information on the Internet and tried it. It turned out to be true. I used the water left over from washing rice to wash them. In a short while, they were washed very clean. Here are some good methods recommended.

If there are mildew spots on cotton clothes, you can use a few mung bean sprouts, rub the mildew spots repeatedly, then rinse them with clean water, and the mildew spots will be removed. If there are mold spots on woolen clothes, put the clothes in the sun for a few hours first. After they are dry, gently brush off the mold spots with a brush. If the mold is caused by oil stains or sweat stains, you can use a soft-bristled brush dipped in some gasoline, repeatedly scrub the moldy spots, then wipe them repeatedly with a clean towel and place them in a ventilated place to dry.

If there are mold spots on silk clothes, first soak the silk in water and scrub it with a brush. If there are many and heavy mildew spots, you can apply some 5% alcohol solution on the mildew spots and scrub them repeatedly to quickly remove the mildew spots. If there are mildew spots on leather clothes, you can first wipe them repeatedly with a towel dipped in soapy water. After removing the dirt, rinse them immediately with clean water, then dry them, and then apply some jacket oil. If there are mildew spots on synthetic clothes, you can use a brush dipped in some strong soapy water to scrub them, and then rinse them with warm water, and the mildew spots can be removed.

If synthetic clothes are moldy, you can wash them directly with soap. First, brush them with soapy water a few times, and then rinse them with clean water. Or you can add clean water to the washing basin, then add white vinegar or milk, and then soak the clothes in it. This can not only remove mildew, but also remove the musty smell on the clothes.

If you have moldy clothes at home, you might as well try to clean them using this method. Maybe you can find a suitable method. If the white clothes are moldy, you need to pay attention to the comprehensive application of many techniques when dealing with such mold spots. I hope that such cleaning methods can help more housewives to better clean the mold spots on clothes.
