What is pollen allergy

The essence of pollen allergy is an allergic reaction caused by the body's contact with pollen or other allergens. Pollen allergy requires three conditions to be met: the first is that one has an allergic constitution, the second is that there are allergens in the external environment, and the third is that the body produces an allergic reaction. Of course, people who are allergic to pollen are often allergic to multiple substances, such as dust, foreign proteins, etc. Some people who are allergic to pollen are even allergic to ultraviolet rays. Here is some information about pollen allergy.

In nature, pollen is a major allergen. When spring comes and flowers bloom, the trees most likely to cause pollen allergies are mostly seed trees, such as wolfberry, castor oil plant, Kochia scoparia, and sycamore. The pollen of these plants is large in quantity and small in size, and its content in the air is high, so it is easier to spread on windy days, so more people suffer from pollen allergies during spring outings.

Allergy is an abnormal reaction of the body, an abnormal reaction of people to normal substances (allergens). Allergies will occur when allergens come into contact with people with allergic constitutions. There are hundreds of allergens such as pollen, dust, foreign proteins, chemicals, ultraviolet rays, etc. For some allergies, no allergens can even be found. The incidence of allergic diseases is about 20% of the population. There is also allergic syndrome, which occurs in all age groups from newborns to middle-aged and elderly people. It has no obvious gender characteristics but has significant genetic characteristics.

Symptoms of pollen allergy: constant sneezing, clear runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, severe itching of the skin, ears, conjunctiva, oral palate mucosa, etc., and clusters of wheals on the skin. In severe cases, asthma, difficulty breathing, and even shock may occur.

In order to avoid pollen allergies, you must be careful in the spring, try not to come into contact with dust or mites, and try to avoid outdoor activities. If you must go out for something, you should take necessary protective measures, such as wearing a mask and long sleeves when going out. In addition, people who are allergic to pollen should pay attention to keeping the environment they live in dry and ventilated, and change pillows and bedding frequently and expose them to the sun.
