Many people find it incredible that there is mucus flowing out of the urethra. In fact, this is most likely caused by gonorrhea. One of the main symptoms of gonorrhea is mucus flowing out of the urethra, and most of them are caused by sexual transmission. Therefore, adults who already have sex should pay more attention. 1. Experts point out that the symptom of mucus in the urethra opening may be gonorrhea. The earliest symptoms of the acute stage of gonorrhea are redness, swelling, itching and slight swelling and pain in the urethra opening, followed by the outflow of thin mucus, causing discomfort during urination. After 24 hours, the symptoms worsen, and the redness and swelling spread to the entire glans penis and part of the urethra. The secretions change from thin to dark yellow pus. Frequent urination, painful urination, difficulty urinating, and difficulty in movement occur, and the penis often has painful erections. A few cases have mild fever and fatigue symptoms. The inguinal lymph nodes on both sides may become red, swollen, painful, and even fester. 2. After one week, the symptoms may gradually ease, the redness and swelling of the glans penis and urethral opening will subside, and the secretions will turn into thin mucus or disappear. The symptoms may disappear completely after one month, but there may still be a trace amount of mucus or adhesion at the urethral opening in the morning. After infection, there is generally an incubation period of 2-14 days, with an average of 3-5 days and a maximum of 2-3 weeks. During the incubation period, the patient generally has no symptoms. When the disease breaks out after the incubation period, the symptoms may be mild or severe, and may be more or less, depending on the site of infection, time of infection, and virulence of the virus strain. 3. Gonorrhea is very harmful. In the short term, it can cause frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination or acute urinary retention. As the disease progresses, gonococci will ascend along the urethra, invade the prostate, posterior urethra, seminal vesicle and epididymis, and then cause prostatitis, posterior urethritis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymis and testitis. If not treated in time, it will inevitably cause widespread infection of the reproductive system. In addition, gonococci can infect the rectum, perianal area, eyes, throat and other parts, causing local inflammation. They can also spread through the blood, causing arthritis, endocarditis, meningitis, bacteremia, and in severe cases, it can cause infertility or even blindness. |
