What are the clinical manifestations of abnormal leucorrhea

In today's social life, many women are always troubled by gynecological inflammation, and abnormal leucorrhea is one of them. It not only affects women's menstrual cycle, but also endangers women's physical health. It is very likely to cause late menstruation or even absent menstruation. In severe cases, people may have to bear expensive surgical fees, which is really distressing. So what are the clinical manifestations of abnormal leucorrhea?

Clinical manifestations

Pathological leucorrhea may indicate different diseases through changes in amount, color, shape and taste.

1. Purulent leucorrhea

The color is yellow or yellow-green, mucus or foamy, and has a foul odor. It is mostly caused by vaginal inflammation, among which Trichomonas vaginitis is the most common, and is often accompanied by vulvar itching. It can be seen in chronic cervicitis, senile vaginitis, endometritis, mesometrial effusion or foreign body in the vagina.

2. Cheese-like or tofu-like leucorrhea

Most of them are typical phenomena of candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching.

3. Bloody leucorrhea, leucorrhea mixed with blood

Be alert to the possibility of malignant tumors such as cervical cancer and endometrial cancer. However, benign lesions such as cervical polyps, cervical erosion, submucosal myoma, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, urethral caruncle, senile vaginitis, etc. can also cause bloody leucorrhea. A small amount of bloody leucorrhea caused by intrauterine contraceptive device is also common.

4. Yellow watery leucorrhea

It often occurs after continuous vaginal bleeding, with a large amount of purulent and foul-smelling leucorrhea flowing out of the vagina. Advanced cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, or submucosal myoma with infection should be considered first. Those with paroxysmal discharge should be aware of the possibility of fallopian tube cancer.

5. Urinary dysfunction with increased leucorrhea

In typical gonococcal infection, the amount of leucorrhea and urethral secretions may increase and be yellow and purulent. The leucorrhea caused by chlamydia is less viscous and there is an increase in white serous cervical secretions.

examine

Whether the leucorrhea is normal should be judged by observing the quantity, color, texture and smell.

Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell or no smell; its secretion amount and texture are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body, and vary periodically with the menstrual cycle, with varying amounts, textures and thicknesses.

Generally, the amount of leucorrhea is less after the menstrual period; before ovulation, due to the increase in estrogen levels in the body, the epithelial cells of the cervical glands are stimulated to proliferate, the secretion of cervical mucus increases, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus increases, which can absorb more water, causing the leucorrhea to increase during ovulation, and the texture is thin, clear in color, and look like egg white, which can be stretched into long threads; after ovulation, estrogen levels gradually decrease, progesterone levels increase, the secretion of cervical mucus is inhibited, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus also decreases, causing the leucorrhea at this time to have a thick texture, milky white color, poor ductility, and easy to break when drawn. In addition, there are also some physiological phenomena such as pregnancy and oral contraceptives, which can cause an increase in vaginal discharge. The cause is also related to changes in estrogen and progesterone levels in the body.

If the amount of vaginal discharge increases for no apparent reason, or is accompanied by changes in color, texture, or odor, you should be alert.

After reading the above introduction to the clinical manifestations of abnormal leucorrhea, I think everyone should have some understanding. It has many clinical manifestations, mainly in its color and smell. We must control the development of the disease in a timely manner. We should take good care of our bodies and not blindly take too many medicines to harm them.
