How to wash a pillow core

The pillow core is an essential bedding item and plays a very important role in our physical health and temperament. However, many people don’t know that the pillow core also needs to be cleaned. If the pillow core is not cleaned, a large amount of dandruff and oil will remain, which will easily breed bacteria and mold, and finally be very detrimental to our physical health. Here's how to clean your pillow core.

Chemical fiber pillow core: Chemical fiber materials have poor air permeability and tend to lack elasticity, deform and clump after long-term use, and become uneven. In addition to frequent cleaning, you should also pay attention to regular replacement. When cleaning, it is best to use a mild detergent to protect the pillow core. For those who like machine washing, it is best to wrap the pillow core with a large towel before putting it into the washing machine to balance the water flow, which can effectively prevent the pillow core from deforming.

Buckwheat husk pillow core: For pillow cores such as buckwheat husk, tea leaves, and medicinal pillows, since they have health-care and calming effects, if they are washed with water, it will not only affect the health-care effects, but also cause the pillow core to mold. This type of pillow core will produce some debris and dust after being used for a long time, which can easily cause allergies and other problems. Therefore, every once in a while, you can pour out the pillow filling, sift out the debris, and place it in the sun to dry.

Down pillow core: When washing, you can first soak the pillow core in cold water for 20 minutes, then put it in warm water at 30℃, add neutral detergent and soak it for 15 minutes, and then gently brush it with a soft brush. After washing, do not wring it too dry, as this can cause the down to clump. You can squeeze out the water with your hands and dry it in a cool place. After drying, you can gently pat the pillow core to make the down fluffy and soft.

If it is a Liangliang pillow core, you cannot use clean water to wash it. This kind of pillow core can only be exposed to the sun, but the sweat, hair, and dandruff accumulated inside are not easy to be completely cleaned out. Therefore, this type of pillow core is generally not recommended for cleaning and should be replaced with a new one after a period of use. This type of pillow core can be vacuumed to absorb dust and then exposed to the sun for two days.
