Peripheral arterial sclerosis often occurs in the elderly, and most patients are over 40 years old. However, this does not mean that teenagers will not get the disease. It just means that the chance is smaller. There are more male patients, and the condition is more serious than that of female friends. There are more patients in urban residents than in rural areas. People who engage in mental work, are obese, have high blood pressure, and have diabetes are more susceptible to the disease. The number of patients in my country has been increasing in recent years. So, what are the symptoms of peripheral arteriosclerosis? 1. Generally, it manifests as a decline in mental and physical strength. Palpation of the body's surface arteries such as the temporal artery, radial artery, brachial artery, etc. may reveal that they have become wider, longer, tortuous, and hardened. 2. Most cases of aortic atherosclerosis have no specific symptoms. When percussed, it can be found that the dullness area of the aorta behind the sternal manubrium is widened, the second heart sound in the aortic valve area is hyperactive with a metallic tone, and there is a systolic murmur. The systolic blood pressure is increased, the pulse pressure is widened, and the radial artery palpation may be similar to a hurried pulse. X-ray examination shows that the aortic knot bulges to the upper left, the aorta is dilated and twisted, and sometimes calcification shadows can be seen in sheet-like or arc-shaped plaques. Arteriosclerosis is a non-inflammatory disease of the arteries that can cause the arterial walls to thicken and harden, lose elasticity, and narrow the lumen. Arteriosclerosis is related to the natural aging of the human body. Hypertension and high blood lipids are risk factors that promote arteriosclerosis. Effective control of blood pressure and blood lipids can significantly delay the progression of arteriosclerosis and improve arteriosclerosis to a certain extent. Patients who have already developed arteriosclerosis should be actively treated to prevent the progression of the disease and reverse it. Patients who have developed complications should be treated promptly to prevent them from worsening. The main methods of drug treatment are: 1. Dilate blood vessels and relieve vascular movement disorders. 2. Regulate blood lipids. If blood lipids are still higher than normal on the basis of a reasonable diet and moderate exercise, lipid-lowering drugs can be used. 3. Anti-platelet adhesion and aggregation drugs can prevent thrombosis and the occurrence and development of vascular occlusive diseases. Commonly used drugs include: enteric-coated aspirin, ticlopidine, etc. 4. Thrombolytic drugs and anticoagulants. For those with intra-arterial thrombosis that causes stenosis or blockage of the artery lumen, thrombolytic drugs and anticoagulants can be used. You can try natural leech products. Patients are advised to eat a light diet, drink plenty of water, eat more vegetables and fruits, and actively control their blood pressure. When eating, be careful not to have extra meals or snacks between meals. If you must eat, you can eat apples, biscuits and other foods that do not increase the fat content. Also, do not drink too much coffee and strong tea. |
