Thyroid cancer does not necessarily metastasize if it is not treated with surgery. Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor and may metastasize. Clinically, most thyroid cancer patients need to undergo surgery as soon as possible once diagnosed. If not treated actively, thyroid cancer may metastasize to other parts of the body, spread to other distant organs, or cause bone metastasis, lung metastasis, brain metastasis, etc. 1. Metastasis to other parts: Patients with thyroid cancer may have neck lumps or metastases to other distant organs. If the tumor metastasizes to other parts, it will cause corresponding clinical symptoms. For example, patients with lung metastasis may experience chest tightness, cough, sputum, hemoptysis, etc. If bone metastasis occurs, the patient may experience bone pain, pathological fractures, joint pain, etc. 2. Spread to other distant organs: Once thyroid cancer is diagnosed, patients need to undergo surgery as soon as possible. If not treated actively, the tumor may spread to other organs, such as the chest or pelvis, causing chest pain, back pain, abdominal pain and other symptoms. If bone metastasis occurs, it may also lead to pathological fractures or joint dysfunction; 3. Bone metastasis: In addition to metastasis to other distant organs, thyroid cancer patients may also develop bone metastasis. Clinically, this situation is relatively rare; 4. Brain metastasis: Once thyroid cancer patients have brain metastasis, most of them have no clinical symptoms. If the tumor is located inside the brain parenchyma and compresses the nerves, the patient may experience symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, and blurred vision. Patients diagnosed with thyroid cancer should undergo surgical treatment as soon as possible. The disease can usually be cured by completely removing the tumor through surgery. After surgical treatment, long-term clinical observation, regular review of thyroid function, and thyroid ultrasound examinations are required. |
