Herpes window period

Herpes window period

Generally speaking, shingles can be understood through observation of the skin. When this symptom occurs, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. The earlier the treatment, the better the effect will be. Of course, the herpes virus can also cause genital herpes, herpes simplex, etc. You must strengthen the treatment in this area and improve your body's immunity in daily life.

Herpes window period

Shingles can usually be seen on the skin. Only herpes simplex requires blood tests. If there are any abnormal skin symptoms, it is recommended to go to a dermatologist. Only after a confirmed diagnosis can symptomatic treatment be given.

Early symptoms of shingles

Generally speaking, herpes zoster is an acute inflammatory skin disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. Its main feature is clustered blisters that are distributed in a clustered band along the peripheral nerves on one side, often accompanied by obvious neuralgia. Humans are the only host of the varicella-zoster virus. The virus enters the blood through the respiratory mucosa to form viremia, causing chickenpox or latent infection. The virus can then remain latent in the dorsal root ganglia of the spinal cord or the sensory ganglia of the cranial nerves for a long time.

1. The disease develops suddenly. Before the rash appears, there may be mild systemic symptoms such as low fever, fatigue, and general discomfort, as well as tingling or burning pain in the affected skin. When the pain is severe, it may be misdiagnosed as acute abdomen and other diseases.

2. The most common sites are the chest (intercostal nerve distribution area) and forehead (trigeminal nerve distribution area), followed by the neck, abdomen, limbs, etc.

3. The rash is characterized by groups of shiny blisters the size of mung beans to rice grains with a red base, which are distributed unilaterally along the peripheral nerves and arranged in a band-like manner. The skin between each group of blisters is normal. The blisters will burst in about 1 or 2 weeks, form scabs or be absorbed and dry, and pigmentation will remain after the scabs fall off. In severe cases, the disease may spread throughout the body, which is called generalized herpes zoster.

4. Neuralgia is paroxysmal, tingling, burning or hyperesthesia. The degree of pain increases with age. Elderly patients experience severe pain, which is even unbearable.

In life, shingles causes great harm to people's bodies. Therefore, we should be vigilant about the disease, learn how to prevent and maintain health in life, and be sure to choose the correct method when treating it.
