How to treat blinking obsessive-compulsive disorder

How to treat blinking obsessive-compulsive disorder

I believe everyone knows about blinking obsession. It is not difficult to find that many people around us have this condition, including my child. I went to many hospitals and tried many folk remedies, but the results were not particularly ideal. After a period of conditioning, I feel that the child’s blinking symptoms have been alleviated a lot, so I want to share my method with everyone.

Compulsive thoughts or behaviors are the transformation of inner conflicts. They are caused by the accumulation of complex emotions, feelings, and desires in the heart, which are difficult to express in words or vent through other means, so they are transformed into compulsions. Repetitive thoughts or behaviors that are difficult to control and cause mental distress. Eyes are the windows to the soul and channels for expressing emotions, feelings and desires.

When treating OCD, one should listen carefully to the patient's complaints to determine the specific manifestations of the OCD in terms of ideas, intentions, or behaviors. Then, the patient's most common fear that the OCD will develop into other mental illnesses and that he or she will lose self-control should be explained to the patient, so that the patient understands that OCD may spontaneously resolve, that the prognosis may be better with proper psychotherapy, and that it is entirely possible to be completely cured. Here are two common treatments for OCD.

1) Behavior cessation method: The behavior cessation method is a self-control method that uses willpower to forcibly stop compulsive behaviors. For example, when there are meaningless compulsive behaviors such as repeated blinking and shaking of the head, just say to yourself: "There is no need. I have the willpower to control it." Then forcibly stop repetitive stereotyped actions such as blinking and shaking the head. The substitution method is to use incompatible ideas, intentions and behaviors to replace the self-control method of obsessive ideas, intentions and behaviors. For example, when obsessive symptoms appear, immediately recall or imagine interesting scenes or immediately engage in various activities that require high concentration, such as playing table tennis, playing the electronic piano, singing, etc.

2) Let patients learn "self-control": Encourage patients to overcome obsessive-compulsive symptoms with their willpower, let patients learn "self-control", and treat themselves through self-restraint. There are several ways to control yourself, including controlling thoughts, stopping behavior, and replacing it. The idea is to use shock to interrupt the self-control method of obsessive thoughts and intentions. For example, use an alarm clock to ring every 3 minutes. When the clock rings, say "Stop!" loudly to immediately get rid of the obsessive thoughts and intentions in your mind. Or you don't need an alarm clock. When obsessive thoughts and intentions appear in your mind, suddenly stand up or make other strong movements and say "Stop!" loudly to get rid of them. After doing this many times, you can use normal sound, weak sound, and finally just say "Stop!" in your heart to drive away the obsessive thoughts and intentions.

Blinking obsession is often caused by bad personal living habits, so in addition to targeted treatment, we also need to maintain a good living condition, a reasonable work and rest schedule, and a balanced diet, which are very beneficial to our health. I hope that the above-mentioned small methods can help you. I wish you good health.
