Nails break easily, so be more vigilant

Nails break easily, so be more vigilant

Nails are considered a barometer of health. Red, tough, curved, smooth and shiny are the signs of healthy nails and also a sign of health. However, some people's nails are easily split or even broken, while others have problems such as dents, cracks, and thickening of their nails. Dermatologists point out that apart from some diseases and infections, nail breakage is mostly caused by nail malnutrition and lack of vitamin A.

People with nail malnutrition, in addition to factors such as congenital embryonic dysplasia, are often related to systemic malnutrition, trace element deficiency, vitamin deficiency, anemia and other factors. For example, vitamin A regulates the normal metabolism and keratinization of the skin epidermis. Lack of vitamin A will lead to poor keratinization, and the nails will become soft, thin, and easy to break.

People with acquired malnutrition must adjust their diet and avoid partial or picky eating. People whose nails often break easily should examine their eating habits to see if they have picky eating habits, or if they don't like to eat radishes, fish, etc. Because radishes and fish are rich in vitamin A, in order to supplement the vitamin A needed by the human body, you should eat more foods such as lamb liver, radishes, fish, and fruits. If necessary, vitamin preparations can be used under the guidance of a doctor.

For some people, the problem is not picky eating, but digestive dysfunction. Even if they consume enough foods rich in vitamin A, the absorption is poor. Such people should consider specialist treatment.

Foods Rich in Vitamin A

1. Fruits: pears, apples, loquats, cherries, bananas, longans, apricots, lychees, watermelons, and melons.

2. Vegetables: purslane, Chinese cabbage, shepherd's purse, tomato, eggplant, pumpkin, cucumber, and spinach.

3. Plants: mung beans, rice, and walnut kernels.

4. Animal food: animal liver, fish, seafood, cream and eggs, etc.

Armor "|Six Don'ts"

1. Do not use nail products containing toluene or formaldehyde.

2. Do not soak your nails in water (especially soapy water or detergent water) for too long, because your nails will become brittle after absorbing water.

3. Do not use your fingernails to hit the keyboard.

4. Do not tear the skin around the nails. It is best to cut it off with a nail clipper.

5. Do not share nail care tools with others as this may easily spread germs.

6. Do not ignore inflammation of the nails or the epidermis around the nails. If inflammation occurs, take medication immediately.
