What to do if you are poisoned by drugs

All medicines are poisonous to some extent, so you must be cautious even during normal use. But sometimes due to the negligence of adults, children accidentally ingest large amounts of medicine, and the consequences are simply unimaginable. However, when this happens, many parents often stand there in a daze because they do not understand the relevant knowledge, and may even delay their children's normal treatment.

So how should drug poisoning generally be handled? How to avoid drug poisoning? What are some common detoxification drugs? Parents with children at home must understand this relevant knowledge, which is introduced in detail below.

To prevent drug poisoning, we should start from the following two aspects. Prevention 1. Strengthen poison publicity and popularize knowledge about poisoning prevention and first aid.

2. Strengthen poison management. Strictly abide by the protection and management system for poisons, strengthen the storage of poisons, and prevent the leakage of poisons.

3. To prevent accidental ingestion of poisons or overdose, containers of drugs and chemicals must be labeled separately, and hospitals must have a strict drug checking system to avoid accidental ingestion or overdose.

1. Treatment principles: Eliminate the cause, accelerate excretion, delay absorption, supportive therapy, and symptomatic treatment. Special treatment mainly involves taking detoxifying substances.

2. Antidotes for common drugs (1) Lead and manganese can be detoxified with calcium sodium edetate.

(2) Arsenic and mercury can be detoxified using dithiopropanol and sodium dithiopropane sulfonate.

(3) Nitrite and benzene can be treated with a small amount of methylene blue injected intravenously.

(4) Cyanide nitrite-sodium thiosulfate therapy.

(5) Organophosphate atropine and pralidoxime.

(6) Opioid drug naloxone.

From the above introduction, we can understand that the most important thing about drug poisoning is to start with prevention. Prevention is the most important thing. Even if drug poisoning really occurs, don't panic. Follow the above methods to solve the problem. If the amount of medicine is large, you must go to the hospital for gastric lavage in time. A small amount can be detoxified with some drugs.
