How long can you live with lung cancer

How long can you live with lung cancer?

1. If the early stage lung cancer lesions are small, they are confined to the lung lobes. If they can be treated promptly and properly, the cancerous lesions can be removed and recurrence can be prevented, and a radical cure is expected. However, most patients are diagnosed with large cancer lesions that have invaded the bronchi and organs other than the lungs, or have metastasized to distant sites. Due to the wide range of lesions, they are often incurable and can only be treated with palliative care to improve symptoms, relieve pain, and prolong life. Early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment are the key to improving the efficacy of lung cancer treatment.

2. The treatment of lung cancer mainly includes surgical treatment, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, interventional therapy, immunotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine. When choosing a treatment plan, the clinical stage of the patient's lung cancer, pathological classification, general condition and whether there are important comorbidities should be considered comprehensively. For example, chemotherapy is the first choice for small cell lung cancer.

3. Surgical treatment. Surgical treatment is recognized as the first choice for lung cancer treatment. For non-small cell lung cancer, except for some advanced patients, surgical treatment or surgical treatment should be given priority. Radical resection is the only treatment method that can cure lung cancer patients and restore their normal life. Even for some advanced cancers, sometimes other treatments can be used to shrink the cancer lesions, and then surgical resection can be achieved. Even cured. Patients with very early lung cancer can usually only be cured by surgery.

4. Chemotherapy. This is usually called "chemotherapy", including neoadjuvant chemotherapy, perioperative chemotherapy, adjuvant chemotherapy, conventional chemotherapy, etc. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is generally performed for 2 to 3 cycles before surgery to reduce tumor volume and improve surgical success rate and long-term survival rate. Perioperative chemotherapy is the use of chemotherapy 3 days before surgery and 2 days after surgery to reduce the probability of cancer cell metastasis during surgery. Or add thoracic chemotherapy after surgery to reduce the rate of postoperative thoracic metastasis. Adjuvant chemotherapy is chemotherapy performed after surgery or radiotherapy. There is sufficient evidence to show that
