Is glioma contagious?

Glioma is not contagious. This is only true for some easily contagious diseases, including pneumonia, AIDS, etc. Glioma is not contagious. It can only be said that there is a higher incidence rate among immediate family members, or to put it more generally, there is a certain genetic tendency, but it does not have a relatively clear infectious effect on those who take care of glioma patients or other family members. Family members who take care of glioma patients do not need to worry too much. As long as we can prolong life and reduce pain, that is the main purpose of our treatment, not to cut off its transmission route. We must make judgments based on the situation.

What is the cause of leg swelling due to glioma?

Glioma is the most common tumor in the central nervous system. Whether it is a brain glioma or a spinal glioma, as long as it is located in the functional area, it will cause serious neurological dysfunction, including hemiplegia and limb movement disorders. In this case, the limb with neurological dysfunction will have poor blood flow, which will cause deep vein thrombosis. In this case, leg edema will occur, and deep vein ultrasound of both lower limbs should be performed to confirm the diagnosis.

Clinical manifestations of glioma

The most common intracranial malignant tumor in clinical practice is glioma. Glioma is actually a process of disordered proliferation and differentiation of some glial cells, which gradually grows from the original blood cell form to the form of a tumor. This can only be treated with active surgical resection and radiotherapy and chemotherapy, otherwise it will erode the surrounding nerve tissue in a very short time and cause more serious clinical symptoms. However, it must be noted that glioma cannot be cured, and it can only be said that the pain can be reduced as much as possible. It is impossible to cure it fundamentally, because it may spread or metastasize to a distant place, and it is impossible to completely cure it with one operation.
