Late-stage symptoms of liver cancer

Liver cancer is a serious disease that will show some obvious symptoms in the late stage. Knowing these symptoms can help you seek medical treatment in time and improve your quality of life. Patients with advanced liver cancer often feel persistent fatigue, which is due to the decline in liver function and the body's inability to metabolize and store energy effectively. Fatigue is like the body constantly reminding us that it needs rest and help.

Another common symptom is loss of appetite and weight loss. The liver is an important part of the digestive system and when it is damaged, both the digestion and absorption of food are affected. It's as if our body loses motivation, eating becomes unappealing and weight loss follows.

Abdominal pain and swelling are also typical symptoms of advanced liver cancer. As the tumor grows, it may press on surrounding organs, causing pain. Fluid accumulation around the liver can also cause bloating and discomfort. It's like having a balloon in your stomach that keeps expanding and pressing.

Jaundice is another symptom to watch out for. This is caused by the liver's inability to process bilirubin effectively, resulting in a yellow discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes. Jaundice is like a warning to the body that something is wrong with the liver.

Advanced liver cancer may also cause changes in the mental and nervous systems, such as confusion and memory loss. This is because the liver's detoxification function declines, toxins accumulate in the body, and affect the brain. It's like there's a fog in the brain, making it difficult to concentrate and think.

In the face of these symptoms, it is very important to seek medical attention and receive professional treatment in time. Maintaining a positive attitude and good living habits can also help patients better cope with the challenges brought by the disease. Through a reasonable diet and moderate exercise, the quality of life can be improved to a certain extent. Most importantly, do not ignore any signals sent by the body. Early intervention is always beneficial.
