Can transcranial Doppler detect brain cancer?

When patients experience headache, vomiting, vision loss, hearing loss, and movement disorders, they should go to the hospital for relevant examinations, generally including head CT and MRI, etc. to clarify brain tumors. Ultrasound examinations have no significance in diagnosing brain tumors. Intracranial malignant tumors mainly include gliomas, malignant meningiomas, germ cell tumors, and metastatic tumors, which can be diagnosed mainly through head CT. A few early and relatively small tumors are easy to miss. Brain tumor examinations with MRI are more accurate. Brain color Doppler ultrasound is a cranial Doppler examination and cannot detect whether the patient has a brain tumor disease.

Early symptoms of brain cancer

The early headache of brain cancer is not very painful. It is mainly caused by increased intracranial pressure accompanied by vomiting and papilledema. The headache occurs when coughing or defecating in the morning, and can be temporarily relieved after vomiting. Vomiting is common in children and is mostly jet-like in the morning. Papilledema can lead to vision loss or even blindness. Exophthalmos is a common symptom of brain tumors. The patient's eyes will protrude forward, which will not only cause incomplete eyelid closure, but also cause eyelid fissures. Patients with early brain cancer usually have no obvious symptoms.

Will 5 brain CT scans cause a brain tumor?

Theoretically, cranial CT scan may lead to the occurrence of brain malignant tumors. In fact, in medicine, whether at home or abroad, the second, third or even more times do not take long. CT scan depends entirely on the needs of the disease, such as cerebrovascular accidents or head trauma. Once the disease changes, CT scans may be needed. The head or other parts may be done several times in a short period of time, such as CT scans within a few hours. The cause of brain tumors is not very clear, but most of them are related to craniocerebral injury, intracranial infection, gene mutation, genetic factors, ionizing radiation and unhealthy lifestyles. Occasionally, CT scans are done to prevent intracranial tumors, but they cannot be exposed to radiation for a long time.
