What are the symptoms of stomach cancer?

Gastric cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the epithelial tissue of the gastric mucosa. Clinically, the incidence rate in men is higher than that in women. In the early stages of cancer, the disease can be controlled and cured, but once it develops to the late stage, the mortality rate is relatively high. In the later stages, as the cancer cells spread, symptoms such as vomiting blood, black stools, and stomach pain will appear.

1. Symptoms of Gastric Cancer

1. In the early stages, if gastric cancer patients do not have obvious symptoms, such as heartburn, indigestion, abdominal pain, etc., many people will not pay attention and think that it is just caused by improper diet.

2. In the middle stage, when gastric cancer develops to the middle stage, the most common symptom is that the patient will feel pain in the upper abdomen, and some patients will also experience anemia, loss of appetite, lumps on the upper abdominal surface, etc. The pain attacks are irregular and have nothing to do with the usual diet, and are mainly caused by the onset of the disease.

3. Late stage: If the patient's gastric cancer has reached the late stage, the symptoms will be upper abdominal pain, and the pain will gradually worsen. As the disease progresses, malignant lesions such as vomiting blood and black stools will occur, because a small amount of bleeding will stain the stool, causing the stool to turn black. If there is a lot of bleeding, it will cause vomiting blood, and most patients will also experience symptoms such as weight loss.

2. Gastric antral obstruction

When stomach cancer attacks, it causes the antrum to merge with the pyloric tissue, causing tissue obstruction. This can cause a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and a foul odor. Eating can be difficult. If you eat liquid food, it can also cause obstruction.

3. Gastric perforation

During gastric cancer, diffuse peritonitis can occur, which can cause stiffness and tenderness in the abdominal muscles. If cancer cells spread to the lymph nodes, they can also cause swollen lymph nodes that can be seen from the surface of the body.
