What are the typical symptoms of advanced lung cancer

What are the typical symptoms of advanced lung cancer?

1. Late-stage symptoms of lung cancer: Lung cancer patients will experience chest pain, which seriously affects their daily lives. If lung cancer is effectively controlled, the chest pain will naturally disappear.

2. If the patient has symptoms of blood in sputum in the late stage, this is because the necrotic tumor will become inflamed and the capillary damage will cause a small amount of bleeding. The patient mainly has lung heat and a lot of sputum, so they are mixed together to form blood in sputum.

3. Edema may also occur in the face and neck, because there is a superior vena cava on the right side of the mediastinum, which can transport veins from the upper limbs and head back to the heart. If it is not transported back to the heart in time, it may eventually lead to edema in the face and neck, and in severe cases, it may affect normal life.

4. Hoarseness is also one of the symptoms of lung cancer patients, because the recurrent laryngeal nerve that controls pronunciation is located in the neck and goes down to the chest. It can bypass the large blood vessels of the heart and go up to the throat, thereby controlling the left side of the vocal organs. Lung cancer compresses the recurrent laryngeal nerve, causing hoarseness.

5. Dyspnea is the most serious symptom of the patient. This is because there is a tumor in the lung, which causes the lung's respiratory function to decline. If the tumor continues to grow, the lung's respiratory function will continue to decline. At first, you may just feel that your breathing is not very smooth, but normal rest may cause dyspnea.

6. Most importantly, lung cancer can also spread to distant sites. If it metastasizes to different parts of the body, different symptoms will occur. This symptom is difficult to predict. If it metastasizes to the bones, bone pain will occur. If it metastasizes to the brain, headaches, movement disorders, and speech confusion may occur.
