How to treat liver cancer when it progresses

How to treat liver cancer when it progresses?

1. Liver cancer is a very common malignant tumor of the digestive system. At the beginning, the lesion may be relatively small. A single cancer nodule with a diameter of less than three centimeters is called a small hepatocellular carcinoma. If two cancer nodules have a diameter of less than three centimeters, it is also called a small hepatocellular carcinoma.

2. As the disease progresses, the tumor gradually grows. If it is larger than 5 cm or 10 cm, it is considered advanced liver cancer. If it is larger than 10 cm, it is considered a massive liver cancer and the treatment effect may not be good. If the disease is in a late stage, there is a risk of liver cancer tumor rupture and massive bleeding at any time, which may directly lead to death.

3. If liver cancer progresses, we can only try to use treatment options that can relieve pain and prolong survival.

Can liver cancer be cured?

Liver cancer is a malignant tumor of the digestive system. Most liver cancers may not be completely cured, but a small number of very early liver cancers may be cured. Cure clinically means that the progression of the disease is completely controlled, there is no further recurrence or metastasis, and there is no recurrence for more than five years, which is considered clinical cure.

Of course, there is still a possibility of recurrence after five years, but the chance of recurrence is much lower. Liver cancer is a malignant tumor of the digestive system. Generally, it may manifest as distension and discomfort in the right upper abdomen, acid reflux, heartburn, loss of appetite, aversion to oil, etc.

Only surgical treatment in the very early stage is more effective. Most of the patients in the middle and late stages can only undergo interventional treatment, as well as local methods such as microwave ablation.
