What is the chemotherapy regimen for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and what should I eat during chemotherapy

What is the chemotherapy regimen for nasopharyngeal carcinoma? What should I eat during chemotherapy?

1. Chemotherapy is the abbreviation of chemical drug therapy. It is a treatment method that uses chemical drugs to prevent the proliferation, infiltration, and metastasis of cancer cells until the cancer cells are finally killed. It is a systemic treatment method, and together with surgery and radiotherapy, it is known as the three major treatment methods for cancer.

2. Since chemotherapy drugs are not very selective, they will inevitably damage normal cells in the human body while killing cancer cells, resulting in adverse drug reactions. When taking chemotherapy drugs, on the one hand, we hope to achieve the best anti-tumor effect, and on the other hand, we should also pay attention to preventing and identifying adverse reactions of chemotherapy drugs.

3. Radiotherapy is recognized as the first choice for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Chemotherapy can be used for patients with advanced stage disease, patients with relapse after radiotherapy, and patients who are not sensitive to radiotherapy.

4. Currently, the commonly used chemotherapy regimens for nasopharyngeal carcinoma include PFA regimen, PF regimen and CBF regimen. Among them, PFA regimen mainly includes: 20 mg of cisplatin and 500 mg of 5-fluorouracil, intravenous drip for 5 days; 40 mg of doxorubicin, intravenous injection on the first day of the treatment course. Repeat once after 3 to 4 weeks.
