What does it mean to be at high risk for bladder cancer?

High-risk bladder cancer means that bladder cancer is more malignant, the cancer cells tend to grow invasively, are prone to metastasis, are more likely to recur after surgery, and have a relatively poor prognosis.

Bladder cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the bladder mucosal tissue. It can be divided into non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and muscle invasive bladder cancer according to the depth of local tumor infiltration. High-risk bladder cancer is generally for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, and the risk level is stratified according to the clinical pathological characteristics of the tumor. Generally speaking, bladder cancer with a pathological stage of T1, a pathological grade of G3, multiple numbers, a diameter >3cm, or recurrent diameter >3cm belongs to the high-risk level. Patients with high-risk bladder cancer can inhibit the differentiation and proliferation of cancer cells through bladder instillation therapy, radiotherapy, surgical treatment, etc., control the progression of the disease, and reduce the chance of recurrence.

Bladder cancer is a malignant tumor. Patients should receive timely clinical treatment after being diagnosed with the disease to delay the progression of the disease. If it is not taken seriously in time or treated improperly, as the disease progresses, it may affect the quality of daily life and life safety.
