1. Preoperative care

①Observe the patient’s condition and assist in various preoperative examinations.

② Give high-protein, high-calorie, high-vitamin, easily digestible food, and provide infusion, blood transfusion or intravenous nutrition when necessary to improve nutritional status.

③ For partial cystectomy, the patient should be advised not to urinate on the morning of the operation to facilitate identification of the bladder during the operation. ④ For total cystectomy with ileal bladder replacement, bowel preparation should be performed routinely.

④ For radical cystectomy and bilateral ureterostomy, abdominal skin preparation should be done well.

2. Postoperative Care

① Observe vital signs, urine volume and urine color. If the urine is dark, bladder flushing can be performed with sterile saline.

② After transurethral bladder tumor resection or partial cystectomy, the urinary catheter should be kept open to prevent blood clots from blocking the catheter when there is excessive bleeding in the bladder; after total cystectomy and ileal bladder replacement, the urine volume drawn out by the left and right ureteral stent drainage tubes and the ileal bladder replacement tubes should be recorded separately to understand the bilateral renal function and the function of the ileal bladder replacement, and gastrointestinal decompression care should also be done; after total cystectomy and ureteral skin stoma surgery, the blood supply of the formed skin papilla should be observed. If it retracts or turns purple, it indicates a blood supply disorder and should be reported immediately.

③Dietary care: Before the gastrointestinal function recovers, give fluid therapy. Eat after anal gastrointestinal tract is discharged. Encourage drinking plenty of water, 2000-3000 ml per day, to achieve internal flushing effect.

④Observe for complications such as incision infection, oral infection, lung infection and urinary tract infection. If any, provide timely treatment.
