What cancers does gastric cancer include

Gastric cancer refers to malignant tumors occurring in the gastric tissue, mainly including adenocarcinoma, mucinous carcinoma, leiomyosarcoma, gastric stromal tumors, and undifferentiated gastric carcinoma.

1. Adenocarcinoma: Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of gastric cancer, originating from glandular cells in the gastric mucosa.

2. Mucinous carcinoma: Mucinous carcinoma refers to adenocarcinoma with a large amount of mucus secretion. It is similar to adenocarcinoma, but it secretes more mucus.

3. Smooth muscle sarcoma: Smooth muscle sarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from the smooth muscle layer of the gastric wall.

4. Gastric stromal tumor: Gastric stromal tumor is a tumor originating from the neuromuscular tissue in the gastric wall. Although it is a malignant tumor histologically, the prognosis is relatively good.

5. Undifferentiated gastric cancer: The tumor cells are too poorly differentiated and no signs of tissue origin can be found, which is called undifferentiated cancer.
