How to treat advanced prostate cancer? Advanced prostate cancer can be treated in three ways

Prostate cancer is a urinary system disease, and its severity is related to the degree of tumor progression. If the disease is discovered in the early stages and treated with the right method, the treatment effect will be better. However, if it is in the late stages, the treatment will be more difficult and the treatment effect will not be ideal.

1. Surgical treatment

Advanced prostate cancer can be treated surgically, which is a common method. The seminal vesicle and prostate need to be removed, the urination pathway needs to be reconstructed, and then the blood vessels, muscles, and fat around the lesion need to be removed based on the lymphatic metastasis and risk stratification. Surgeries include traditional prostatectomy, laparoscopic prostatectomy, etc. The specific method to be chosen should be determined based on the actual situation.

2. Radiation therapy

You can do external radiation therapy, which uses X-rays to treat the prostate cancer site, which needs to be treated for several weeks; you can also do intra-tissue irradiation therapy, which is to implant radionuclides into the prostate site and treat it at a low energy for a long time. Normal tissues are generally not affected too much, but there may be side effects such as loose stools, urgent urination, and pain.

3. Cryotherapy

Cancer cells are killed by freezing tissue. An ultrasound-guided freezing probe is inserted into the prostate, and then high-pressure argon gas is injected to cool the treatment area in a short time, so that the surrounding tissue will be frozen. After about 5 to 15 minutes, high-pressure helium gas is injected to slowly raise the tissue temperature. Repeated treatments can kill cancer cells. However, after treatment, there may be more obvious side effects and complications.

The above is the treatment method for advanced prostate cancer. The treatment method should be decided according to the actual physical condition and the doctor's advice. Only the correct treatment method can achieve a good improvement. If surgical treatment is used, the wound must be kept dry and clean after treatment. If there are local pain symptoms, medication can be used for treatment. Do not do strenuous exercise during the recovery period, and do not have sex.
