What are the preventive measures for prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is a common disease among men, which seriously endangers the health of patients and makes men very painful. So, what are the means to prevent prostate cancer in daily life?

1. Pay attention to the fat in your diet

There is a significant difference in the dietary structure of people in areas with a high incidence and low incidence of prostate tumors. The food in low-incidence areas contains less fat and more grains, vegetables, and soy products, while the opposite is true in high-incidence areas. This phenomenon suggests that fat in food is a possible cause of prostate tumors.

2. Pay attention to the calories in your diet

A high-calorie diet is also a stimulating factor for the occurrence of prostate tumors. High calories can accelerate cell mitosis, accelerate cell proliferation, and lead to tumor formation. The incidence of prostate tumors in people with a high-calorie diet is 70% higher than that in people with a low-calorie diet.

3. Pay attention to the vitamins in your diet

Studies have shown that the concentration of vitamin A in normal prostate is 5 to 7 times higher than that in prostate cancer tissue, which indicates that vitamin A plays a very important role in preventing the occurrence of prostate tumors. Studies have shown that adequate intake of vitamin D can greatly reduce the risk of prostate tumors.

4. Eat more cruciferous vegetables

Peas, broccoli and cauliflower are representative vegetables in the cruciferous vegetables. Studies have found that men who eat more cruciferous vegetables are less likely to develop prostate cancer.

5. Eat less meat and dairy products

Recently, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute of the United States published a report on the diet of people who died of prostate cancer in 59 countries by James Hobert and others. It was found that the mortality rate of prostate cancer patients was proportional to the intake of meat, dairy products, and poultry, and inversely proportional to the intake of cereals, nuts, and fish. It suggests that people who eat too much meat and dairy products are more likely to die from prostate cancer. This is related to the fact that animal fat foods can increase the level of sex hormones in male adults and increase the risk of cancer, because prostate cancer is quite sensitive to hormone levels in the blood.

6. Take more vitamin E

Dutch researchers found that people who took 50 mg of vitamin E orally every day for 5 to 8 years had 32% fewer symptomatic prostate cancer than those who did not take vitamin E, and the mortality rate of prostate cancer in the group taking vitamin E was 41% lower than that in the control group. It is speculated that vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that can capture excessive "killer" oxygen free radicals in the body and reduce damage to prostate cell membranes and genes, thereby preventing or delaying the occurrence of prostate cancer. Experts point out that middle-aged and elderly men should eat more foods rich in vitamin E, such as nuts (sunflower seeds, walnuts, pine nuts, pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, etc.), wheat germ flour, hair vegetable, tofu skin, olive oil, soybean oil, corn oil, rice bran oil, sesame oil, purslane, etc. Take 50 mg or 100 mg of vitamin E capsules every day when necessary.

7. Do proper physical exercise and maintain a healthy weight

The survey found that if men swim for 30 minutes every day, the possibility of developing advanced prostate cancer will be greatly reduced. Scientists say that swimming can improve disease resistance, promote blood and lymph circulation in the prostate, and help reduce prostate inflammation. In addition, swimming can help prostate cancer patients absorb drugs better, thereby improving the efficacy of drugs, and is also beneficial for symptoms such as neurological disorders and neurasthenia.
