Why do liver cancer patients always feel tired? Prevention of liver cancer starts from here

Liver cancer is one of the common malignant tumors in my country, with a very high mortality rate. It ranks third in the order of death from malignant tumors, second only to stomach and esophagus cancer; in rural areas of some regions, it ranks second, second only to stomach cancer. About 110,000 people die of liver cancer in my country each year, accounting for 45% of the world's liver cancer deaths. The main causes of liver cancer in my country are viral hepatitis infection, aflatoxin contamination in food, and drinking water pollution in rural areas. The most typical symptom of liver cancer is fatigue and weight loss for no reason. In the early stages of liver cancer, the first thing patients feel is physical fatigue. Compared with fatigue caused by other reasons, the fatigue caused by liver cancer cannot be eliminated even if the patient lies down and rests quietly.

Why do people with liver cancer feel tired?

Cancer cells damage the liver's storage function. The heat generated by the food consumed by the human body will be absorbed by the intestines, and part of it will be transported to the liver for storage. When our body needs it, it will be transported to all parts of the body. If the liver is invaded by liver cancer cells, the liver's storage function will be damaged and the body's fuel supply will be reduced. On the other hand, due to the continuous expansion of the tumor, it causes digestive tract dysfunction, indigestion, and nutrient absorption disorders, so mental fatigue due to insufficient energy will occur. At present, surgery is still the first choice for early treatment of liver cancer in clinical practice. The smaller the tumor and the more timely it is discovered, the higher its 5-year survival rate. However, at the same time as surgical treatment, attention should be paid to coordinated conditioning with Chinese medicine. Most patients with advanced liver cancer can no longer withstand surgical treatment due to various factors such as physical condition and the spread of cancer. For such patients, conservative treatment is often adopted in clinical practice.

Liver cancer is mainly caused by hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and aflatoxin

Liver cancer is mainly caused by hepatitis B and hepatitis C. According to the survey, about 40% of liver cancer patients have a history of chronic hepatitis, and the positive rate of Australia anti-(HbsAg) is significantly higher than that in low-incidence areas. It is currently found that hepatitis C virus infection, like hepatitis B infection, is closely related to the onset of liver cancer. Hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus are definitely one of the factors that promote cancer. About 50% to 90% of liver cancer patients have cirrhosis. In recent years, it has been found that the proportion of hepatitis C developing into cirrhosis is no less than that of hepatitis B.

Animal experiments have confirmed that aflatoxin B1, a metabolite of aflatoxin, has a strong carcinogenic effect and is present in moldy corn, peanuts and other foods. In areas where food is seriously contaminated by aflatoxin B1, the incidence of liver cancer is also high. Nitrosamines, azo mustards, alcohol, organochlorine pesticides, etc. are all suspected carcinogens.

Prevention of liver cancer should start from the mouth

1. Do not eat moldy food

In spring, food is prone to mold. Aflatoxin in moldy food is a liver cancer-causing substance, which takes only 24 weeks to cause cancer. Therefore, food should be properly stored and discarded immediately once it is moldy, especially soybeans, peanuts, sweet potatoes, sugar cane, etc., which should never be eaten. In addition, peanut oil should not be stored for a long time. If it is found to have a rancid smell, it should not be eaten. Otherwise, it will not only taste bad, but more importantly, it will cause cancer.

2. Do not eat or eat less pickled vegetables

Pickled vegetables such as sauerkraut, pickles, and salted fish are refreshing and appetizing. As the weather gets hotter, people lose their appetite and prefer to eat pickled vegetables with rice. However, pickled vegetables contain a large amount of nitrosamines, which have been shown to be related to the occurrence of liver cancer. It is best not to eat them or eat less. And remember, you must pickle them thoroughly before eating.

3. Do not drink or drink less alcohol

Long-term drinking will cause alcohol to digest the gastric mucosa. Once the gastric cells are damaged, the toxic substances in the food will be easily absorbed by the stomach, which can easily cause alcoholic hepatitis, damage the liver's detoxification function, and even cause alcoholic cirrhosis, which is a risk factor for liver cancer. If moldy peanuts are used as a snack, the possibility of inducing liver cancer will be even greater. Dr. Dong recommends that adult men should not drink more than 2 cups of alcohol per day, and women should not drink more than 1 cup.

4. Animal and vegetable oils should not be eaten after they have gone bad

Stale oils contain malondialdehyde, a chemical component that can generate polymers and react with proteins and deoxyribonucleic acid in the human body, causing protein structure mutations, causing cells with mutated proteins to lose their normal functions and transform into early cancer cells. In addition, malondialdehyde polymers can inhibit

Potential high-risk groups for liver cancer:

The high-risk groups for liver cancer are mainly: patients with hepatitis B for more than five years, hepatitis B virus carriers;

1. Patients with hepatitis B and hepatitis C and corresponding virus carriers. Professor Zhou Jiahua, director of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Center of Zhongda Hospital affiliated to Southeast University, pointed out that most liver cancer patients were once hepatitis B patients. Data show that about 20% of hepatitis B patients may develop cirrhosis and thus cause liver cancer; hepatitis C has a higher chance of causing liver cancer;

2. Chronic hepatitis patients. "Long-term chronic hepatitis is the primary cause of liver cancer. This is because fatigue exacerbates the repeated attacks of hepatitis inflammation, causing the orderly structural arrangement of liver cells to mutate, and the entire liver's internal structure to become chaotic and 'collapse', eventually evolving into liver cancer."

3. Long-term alcoholics. Zhang Junyi, director of the Third Department of Oncology at the Southern Medical University Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, said that drinking is not the main cause of cancer, but long-term and excessive drinking of strong liquor may lead to alcoholic cirrhosis and then liver cancer.

4. Long-term consumption of moldy food and drinking water with excessive heavy metal content. Zhang Junyi said that peanuts, soybeans and other grains commonly seen in daily life will produce aflatoxin after being moldy. This substance has been proven to be a strong carcinogen. If you often eat food contaminated with aflatoxin, it may cause liver cancer. If the heavy metal content in the water exceeds the standard, or the microbial content is too high, long-term drinking of these contaminated water may also cause liver cancer.
