Why does viral fever occur

In life, colds and fevers are particularly common diseases. Usually, seasonal changes and fluctuating temperatures can easily cause colds and fevers if you do not keep warm. Everyone knows that fevers are usually caused by bacteria and viruses. In fact, no matter what kind of fever it is, it needs to be actively treated. If the fever lasts for a long time, it will cause many complications. Why does a viral fever occur?

Why do viral fevers occur?

1. It is related to the physiological and anatomical characteristics of children's body and the immaturity of the immune system

Children's nasal cavity is narrow, the mucosa is tender, the mucosal glands secrete insufficiently and are relatively dry. They have poor adaptability and resistance to the external environment and are prone to inflammation. Premature babies, children with congenital defects or diseases, such as heart and lung failure, and especially those with congenital immune diseases, may catch a viral cold if there is any mistake in care.

2. It is also related to improper feeding methods of parents

Young parents lack knowledge about parenting nutrition. Because children grow and develop quickly, those children who are fed artificially due to lack of breast milk, as well as those who are too spoiled, picky eaters, or anorexic, may suffer from malnutrition or unbalanced nutrition, which may cause varying degrees of iron deficiency, calcium deficiency, or insufficient intake of vitamins and protein.

Nutrients such as iron, zinc and protein play an important role in the synthesis of various globulins of the immune system and in promoting the maturation and differentiation of immune cells, thus affecting the child's body's resistance. A lack of vitamin A in the body causes the cilia of the respiratory epithelial cells to decrease and disappear, the glands to lose their normal functions, lysozyme and secreted immune antibodies to decrease significantly, and the barrier function to decline, which can lead to infection. Insufficient calcium intake can cause rickets in children, leading to low resistance and susceptibility to viral and bacterial infections. Low calcium can lead to weakened cilia movement in respiratory epithelial cells, making it difficult for respiratory secretions to be discharged. These are all causes of viral colds.

3. Related to the bad surrounding environment

Some children's families have poor living conditions, which are dark and damp; some have indoor temperatures that are too high or too low; some families like to keep doors and windows closed all day long, resulting in poor air circulation; some family members are addicted to smoking, and there are fires in the same room, causing serious smoke pollution. Poor environment and turbid air are extremely harmful to the respiratory tract and are important causes of viral colds. Some parents dress their children too much or too little, which results in them either sweating or catching cold, which can easily induce viral colds.

4. Viral colds are also related to lack of outdoor exercise

Due to objective limitations or insufficient attention, many children lack outdoor activities. For example, in northern my country and areas with longer cold seasons, children stay indoors most of the time and rarely have the opportunity to play outdoors; some parents spoil their children and keep them in air-conditioned rooms all day long. Once these children catch a little cold, they cannot adapt and are very likely to catch a viral cold.
