What method can diagnose liver cancer? This technology is the most accurate in diagnosing liver cancer

The hepatic CT perfusion imaging (HCTpI) technology, which has developed rapidly in recent years, especially the 64-slice spiral CT whole liver perfusion imaging, has the advantages of wide scanning range, high spatial resolution, accurate blood flow measurement and strong repeatability. Clinical practice has proved that it is of great significance in the diagnosis of liver cancer.

HCTpI refers to the dynamic scanning of the selected layer of the liver after intravenous injection of contrast agent. The time-density curve (TDC) of each pixel in the layer is obtained based on the linear relationship between contrast agent concentration and tissue density. The various perfusion parameters of each pixel are calculated using different mathematical models based on TDC, and the color scale is assigned according to the size of the parameter to form a parametric pseudo-color map. By observing the abnormal perfusion area on the map and measuring its parameters, the nature of the area can be determined, thereby making a highly sensitive and specific diagnosis of the disease.

Compared with normal liver tissue or cirrhosis tissue, the HCTpI parameters of liver cancer and surrounding infiltration areas generally changed as follows: HAp, TI, p, HApI, HBF, BV, and pS increased; pVp and MTT decreased. The specific explanation is as follows:

First, metastatic liver cancer is mainly supplied by the hepatic artery. Increased HAp can be used as an indicator of its occurrence. Regardless of whether it is hypervascular or hypovascular metastatic liver cancer, its HApI is higher than that of the surrounding normal liver tissue. HApI is a good indicator for diagnosing metastatic liver cancer.

Second, as metastatic liver cancer progresses, pVp gradually decreases, which means that a decrease in pVp indicates the progression of metastatic liver cancer.

Third, micro-metastatic liver cancer that cannot be seen with the naked eye has already undergone significant changes in its microcirculation. Measuring perfusion parameters by HCTpI can be used for early diagnosis.
