How to self-check for melanoma

Melanoma is also called malignant melanoma. 60% of malignant melanomas are caused by the malignant transformation of benign moles. Self-examination of melanoma mainly involves close observation of moles and dark spots on the body and skin. First, make a clear record of the number and location of moles you have, and then make further comparisons during future observations to see if there are new moles or pigmented spots, and whether the size, shape, color or texture of the original moles or pigmented spots have changed.

If there are any of the following signs, it may indicate early melanoma:

1. Color: motley.

2. Edges: often jagged and serrated.

3. Surface: not smooth.

4. Edema or color changes occur on the surrounding skin.

5. Local itching or abnormal sensation.

6. The lesion increases in size, especially within a short period of time.

If the growth rate is rapid, ulceration, bleeding or inflammation around the tumor occurs, certain satellite lesions appear, or the lymph nodes are swollen, these are all possibilities of adverse changes.

It also has a lot to do with the heel area. About half of us Asians suffer from it in the heels and toes, which are areas that are subject to long-term friction and irritation, so be sure to see a doctor to help you diagnose and treat it.
