Is liver cancer contagious? Share knowledge about the contagiousness of liver cancer

Fundamentally speaking, liver cancer is not contagious, but the causes of liver cancer are different. In particular, some patients develop liver cancer due to viral hepatitis, which may be contagious. Therefore, liver cancer patients must understand the disease and take targeted preventive measures to minimize the impact on others.

Primary liver cancer (hereinafter referred to as liver cancer) is one of the common malignant tumors in my country. According to statistics in the 1990s, the annual mortality rate of liver cancer in my country was 20.37/100,000, ranking second in the order of malignant tumor deaths, second only to lung cancer in cities and second only to gastric cancer in rural areas. Due to the clinical application of serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFp) and the progress of various imaging technologies, especially AFp and ultrasound imaging for monitoring high-risk groups for liver cancer, liver cancer can be diagnosed in the subclinical stage without symptoms and signs. In addition, the maturity of surgical techniques and the development of non-surgical treatments such as various local treatments have significantly improved the prognosis of liver cancer compared with the past. 1. The classification is based on the different ages of the patients, the different types of lesions, and whether there are other lesions such as cirrhosis, so the overall clinical manifestations can also be very different. Patients can generally be divided into four types: (1) Cirrhosis type: patients originally had symptoms of cirrhosis, but recently developed liver pain, liver enlargement, liver function decline, etc.; or patients recently developed symptoms similar to cirrhosis such as loss of appetite, anemia, ascites, jaundice, etc., but the liver enlargement was not obvious. (2) Liver abscess type: patients have obvious liver enlargement and significant liver pain, which develops rapidly and is accompanied by fever and secondary anemia, which is very similar to a single liver abscess. (3) Liver tumor type: This type is more typical. The patient was healthy but suddenly developed liver enlargement and other symptoms, which is undoubtedly a malignant tumor. (4) Cancer metastasis type: clinically, there are only manifestations of distant metastasis of the tumor, and the primary lesion is not obvious, and it is impossible to distinguish between liver cancer and other tumors; even if the liver is enlarged, it is often difficult to distinguish whether it is primary or secondary liver cancer. Among the above types, liver tumor type is the most common, with about half of the patients complaining of upper abdominal mass, followed by liver abscess type, with about 1/3 of the cases having upper abdominal pain and liver enlargement. Although the occurrence of liver cancer is closely related to cirrhosis, clinically, liver cancer patients with obvious symptoms of cirrhosis are not as common as imagined. In addition to the above main types, Zhong Xueli et al. (1956) described liver cancer patients with prominent manifestations of obstructive jaundice, intraperitoneal hemorrhage, hypoglycemia, cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, chronic hepatitis and intra-abdominal cysts, and divided liver cancer into 10 types in total. In addition, Lin Zhaoqi et al. (1962) also observed that the number of white blood cells and the percentage of neutrophils in the peripheral blood of liver cancer patients sometimes increased significantly, and bone marrow examination showed significant proliferation of granulocytes, similar to leukemia; there were also patients with spinal cord paraplegia caused by the metastasis of primary liver cancer cells to the lumbar spine, which was actually a manifestation of cancer metastasis.
