Is liver cancer hereditary?

A large amount of research data shows that the occurrence of liver cancer is related to heredity, common living, and partly to living environment and living habits. In the family of liver cancer patients, several people often suffer from liver cancer and other cancers at the same time or successively. In general, although liver cancer is not hereditary, there is a certain tendency for family clustering. Members of a family that has had a liver cancer patient should be alert to this disease.

Stay away from liver cancer

1. Eat less processed foods

These "foods" are usually high in calories, lacking in nutrients, high in starch and fat, and full of chemicals, which are harmful to the human liver and have no benefits.

2. Do not eat moldy food

When food becomes moldy, the aflatoxin produced is a liver carcinogen, and its carcinogenicity takes as short as 24 weeks, which is extremely harmful. Therefore, food in our daily life should be properly stored and discarded immediately once it becomes moldy, especially soybeans, peanuts, sweet potatoes, sugarcane, etc. Do not force yourself to eat them because you think it is a waste.

3. Quit smoking

The nicotine contained in cigarettes and ethanol, a metabolite of alcohol, are extremely harmful to the liver and are one of the main risk factors for causing disease and inducing cancer.

4. Limit alcohol intake

All alcohol people drink must be metabolized by the liver. When there is too much alcohol and the liver's metabolic function decreases, ethanol, the main component of alcohol, is converted into acetaldehyde through the catalysis of dehydrogenase. Eventually, the human liver forms alcoholic liver under the action of ethanol and acetaldehyde, which leads to liver cancer.
