What are the obvious early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma?

If nasopharyngeal carcinoma can be detected and treated in time, the success rate of cure will be much higher. However, if we want to detect the existence of nasopharyngeal cancer, we must first understand the obvious symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer in the early stages, which will also help us distinguish them clearly.

(1) Enlarged cervical lymph nodes. This is the most common symptom. Patients often accidentally feel a lump on their neck or find that the two sides of their neck are asymmetrical when looking in the mirror. The lump is often hard, painless to touch, and affects movement. It has the characteristics of early metastasis and high metastasis rate.

(2) Contractile bloody nasal discharge. After inhaling back into the nasal cavity, spitting out bloody mucus from the mouth, especially after getting up in the morning, is one of the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer.

(3) Tinnitus or hearing loss. That is, the ears are buzzing, or deafness occurs, and the hearing is worse than before.

(4) Headache. It manifests as pain in the occipital or temporal area, often dull pain.

(5)Nasal congestion. The tumor blocks the posterior nasal opening or invades the nasal cavity, resulting in poor nasal ventilation.

(6) Facial numbness. It is caused by tumor invasion of the trigeminal nerve, which can cause decreased sensation, hyperalgesia or analgesia.

(7) Diplopia. Things are not clear and there are double images.

(8) Tongue deviation when extended. When the tongue is extended, it deviates to one side, and the hypoglossal nerve that controls it is affected.

(9) Difficulty opening the mouth. (10) Exophthalmos. Protruding eyes may be caused by a tumor invading the back of the eye.
